Sometimes I wonder why some people are even on a "dating site" at all, and list themselves as wanting to date, when it's clear they dislike or even hate the gender they're trying to be with. If every woman is a b!tch, a whore, a liar, only wants the "bad boy" while you describe yourself as the "nice guy," a cheater, a game player, sneaky and conniving, a ball buster, a gold digger, only into looks while you think you have a great personality and doesn't appreciate you for "being yourself" WHY are you trying to date/get married/be in a relationship at all?

My profile clearly says I'm only here for friends, but if I set my preference to wanting to date, I'd feel pretty silly being a man basher. How do you desire what you also despise? Discuss!

Despise? I love women!!

People are different, there is a person that fits every trait you list, but also many many more that you dont list... I think mostly people make bad choices, get burned - then they are scarred for life. crap happens, deal with it, get over it... not all women should be "painted with the same brush" in my opinion... (and yes I have been burned)... call me a fool, but I choose not to hide away my feelings... If I meet someone that I like, I go for it.!! Just because I got burned once, does not mean that I remove all fire from my life forever, I am just more respectful of the flames - !!!

I think a lot of it is a sort of knee-jerk reflexive venting process.

There have always been a lot of threads along the lines of "Why are all men pigs?" and "Why do all women lie?" and so on.

I've noticed an ever-increasing tendency (and I may have somehow inadvertently contributed to it myself) for "blanket statement" threads to be ridiculed when they arise. One of my favorite replies to "All men are pigs!" is something along the lines of "And how long did it take you to interview every man in the world to arrive at this conclusion?"

It is, of course, sheer laziness to blanketize this way. Much easier to condemn the entire gender as bad, rather than consider the possibility that there might be individual "exceptions."

Which doesn't answer your question, but then I'm too busy trying to figure out why all women want to turn me into a goat.
