Remember pulltabs on soda and beer cans? Step on one on the playground and get lockjaw for life. But save 'em up at home, and you could make vests, hammocks, hats, planters, and hot pants. Wear 'em to the Renaissance Faire and you'd be a hit.

Wear 'em to the Renaissance Faire and you'd be a hit. Now, you are reaching back a bit..um, Keith, our age is beginning to show... Remember silly putty. useless as hell, and the "pet rock" (the most exciting thing about that was it came in a bright yellow box..and the guy made millions. My use for it? A projectile from my wrist rocket... |

Using silly putty on the comics in the newspaper. Working hard to get the picture perfectly on it. Then thinking, okay NOW what do I do with it?

My other sister had some of those Rock Flowers....a little (approximately) 6-inch doll that came accompanied with a thick plastic record, with three slots around the spindle hole where you could attach this clear plastic cone that you could put one of the dolls' legs in, then position her, and when the record spun, she would "dance".
I tell ya what, if you ever saw that Lilac's long hair blowin' in the breeze while she "danced" atop her magenta-colored platter of "Good Friends", you'd never respect that damn Barbie again! Also, if you cranked the record up to 78 rpm, she'd become a Berkeley speed freak....and sound like one, too! |

This will tell on me, but.. Knit hip huggers, bell bottom jeans..(um and it aint cool to have bell bottoms, unless, they are are at least and inch too long, and sport the dangling threads. florescent shoes were all the rage, Paper lace was at the top of the charts, and kung foo fighting was the #1 song. |

Ahh, yes....memories of 1974.
And you weren't cool if your bells on your bellbottoms weren't the 24" version. |

I have a mood ring, wear it to work daily but unlike the ones I remember from back in the day that had a large single stone, mine is a band. How about Magic rocks (that grew in water) and ant farms and hot pants, have they already been mentioned? I had a pair of neon blue hot pants, wore them once, was enough!
