cable boxes with the knob you had to get up and turn to change the channel

I think I might still HAVE one of those things out in my garage! I kept it just for retro's sake, just so I could freak out the kids of today!

I remember Clackers. These colored glass type balls on either end of a string. You flicked it back and forth and made them "clack". They pulled the because apparently you could put an eye out. Funny the stuff we bought back then. A piece of string with a ball on either end.

Members Only jackets.

I saw a guy about a year ago wearing one. I couldn't help but wonder if he was the last Member.
ohwell

I still have a few of them. a black one, a light blue one, and a Brown leather one (that one cost about two hundred bucks).

The thing back then was Jordache jeans, Members only jackets, and Nike shoes.

Thats cause you don't throw anything away....laugh

I had a couple of sets of those. Not those cheapo plastic pieces of crap with the TWO stiff plastic connectors on 'em. What's the fun in THAT!? There's no dexterity involved with those! You couldn't master the art of not whacking your wristbones with those cheap things!

laugh laugh laugh Can't you just hear kids NOW days though. They go back to school after Christmas and are asked, "what did you get for Christmas?" Can you even imagine a time when that answer would be "oh...a string with two glass balls on either end" laugh

I got one! I got one!

Full-service gas stations!

Whatever happened to those??

With the addition of bulletproof glass and gas station attendants who never leave their cages, today's stations compliment our fearful, unsupportive, disconnected society.
ohwell

Does anyone remember "Tangee Lipstick". It was like lip gloss today but it always made my lips look red and I wasn't permitted to wear red lipstick.. I also still have my school jacket, black and gold with the big Tiger head on the back and my cheerleading patch on the front..."GoTigers"

Koogle peanut butter. The peanut butter that was flavored like cinnamon, chocolate, banana, etc. Disgusting stuff. I'm glad it was only on the shelves for about two years (early '70's). ill

Here's another one (as long as some folks were mentioning vinyl records):

K-tel albums.

They always had ridiculously edited versions of songs (the early albums, at least), and they always had "as advertised on TV!" on them, like it was some big selling point. Unfortunately, they've somehow morphed into the pathetic "NOW" series.
