I'm not worried about health care so much as their stuuuuupid cap and trade. THAT's the big one.

I wouldn't go quite that far. "Nationalized health care" would be a huge threat to liberty and private enterprise (such as it is anymore) - perhaps a bigger threat than even the "cap & trade" bill, which is an enormous menace all its own.

This could be an interesting post if we stay on topic.
How close this election was, is and intication of how evenly divided our nation is on political issues.
If the democrats push through too much with the filibustor proof majority it could backfire.
If the independents and one or two conservative Dems. side with the Reps. and block legislation, that could hurt the other side of the aisle.
It could be a very interesting couple of years in DC

I think what's really interesting about it to me is all those votes they "found" AFTER the election was over that went so amazingly coincidentally for Franken ... I mean, the percentages were UNBELIEVABLE ... literally! explode
If only Al Gore would have had the guts to push the recounts as hard as Franken, we wouldnt have had to endure the 8 year nightmare that was the Bush Admininstration.

My assumption was that I'm not worried about it because I don't think it's gonna pass. Cap and Trade? If it passes watch how many jobs we lose to India and China. THEY don't even want Cap and Trade in their countries, I'm sure they're foaming at the mouth waiting to see if WE get stuck with that idiotic bill.

And yes I have health care, privately, because I make an effort to not live beyond my means, excel at my job, therefore receiving recommendations from my superiors should I need them. I was laid off in November, by April I was employed again. By the way, I pay for my insurance. Why be a slouch and use Gov't medical? Have you been to those Doctors???? You'd probably be sicker when you leave them.

No, I didn't say that. Idiots like Franken and his liberal co-horts running the House is the travesty. Everyone who voted for Obama will soon get exactly what they deserve. And they won't be happy about it unless they're mooching off the Gov't.

The problem is, the rest of us are going to get what they deserve, too

Because too many of the ones that are already there in Washington have apparently been convinced that in order to win, they need to offer pretty much the same things the Dems are offering, just in a "better way". Which is to say, they're gonna screw us up the tailpipe slower and with less force, but they're still gonna screw us.

By the time a "Republican" was in the White House, the House Repubs had already begun the process of losing most of whatever spine they had when they won Congress back in '94. The Senate has for a long time been populated with too many of the spineless breed of Repubs (especially those from the extremely liberal northeast), but when the House went soft, too ... well, it led to where we are now.
