What do you think is the best Godly way to find a good mate? Should we pray and wait? Or, should we multiple date? Or...none of the above?

I think it is too hard to pray and wait..and you learn from your mistakes...so if you are not out there making them really what ya gonna learn...I think dating is best..

These are hard choices! How will you if you don't, then you think I take the chance on rushing it and blowing it. It seems like the Ladies on here are offering some good advice. I would like to see this forum expand, more input.

I liked your reply. Since my divorce, I've been much less social. I've been praying very hard for a woman to come into my life, but I havent really been out there enough for that to happen.

I first pray. I dont go out much anymore. Dont mingle I am in recovery. So I have been staying to myself. I do ask God to put someone in my life. I believe he will put someone in my life or me in someone elses. Its where and when he wants. Thanks :-)

Well, all I have to say is that the Bible always states marriage as a choice. you 'choose' your mate and to get married etc. But it all boils down to the daily walk, where God wants you to be, trusting Him with the unknown. I believe if that is where you are at and makibng the wise decisions as choices come then moment by moment decision by decision, prayer mixed with action, you will find your way and have the best outcome with good conscience. Patience and walking through the day with grace and faith and forgiving yourself when you are less than you want to belearning and moving on. Lv -Ti

Im not a dater. I dont see a girl and then just ask her out.
Im more of a type who prays, who likes to get to know a girl as a friend first and then hopefully it just evolves into a relationship, if thats in Gods will. Now thats not to say if a women wanted to ask me I wouldnt go, im simply not doing the asking. I think it more has to do with what your comfortable with. |

I know what I want to say, but just trying to figure out HOW to say it..I hope this comes out right and comes across like I want it to, so please bare with me...
I think we need to allow ourselves to be open to a relationship and "put ourselves out there" per say, but let God chose for us who is meant for us. The who and when. Our timing is not God's. Its when we are so desperate to not want to wait for God's best for us that we do it alone and not invite God to show us who He has in store for us and then we end up miserable and unhappy and wonder why god allows this in our lives. God wants the best for us as His children, but we need to wait on Him and allow Him to prepare the best for us and sometimes in that, its preparing us to be ready to accept His best for us. so, yes, in that, I believe prayer is a big part of it, but that doersnt mean we sit idle always not trying to put ourselves in situations where we may be able to allow God to bring that possible one into our lives. Its all about trusting God and knowing that we are worthy to have His Best and trusting that our lives and future is in His hands. |

Wow, I guess I hadn't searched long enough on this site until tonight. I found lots of other fellow believers
 Well, I agree that we need to pray about our desire for a partner to the Lord, of course. In my experience I've prayed about it to the point where I'm tired of talking or praying about it. I've finally begun to put myself out there where I'm known and seen. I've been noticed by women and it feels great. Now I just need to find...or wait to be found...by the RIGHT one for me.
