I quote one person from history:

"None are more hopelessly enslaved, than those who falsely believe to be free"

We need more regulation. We are in the mess we are because the A-holes on Wall Street were running amok. drinker

You know..this whole entire thing reminds me of the movie "The Phantom Menace".

Create a crisis, then consolidate power and then come as the savior, while the whole crisis was done by the same people and now they convinced the people they can solve it.

The entire thing is a power grab.

I'm sad that no one realizes this...I know some of you think I'm a conspiracy theorist, whatever. I stand by my opinion.

It's not just those on wall street that are responsible for this mess, although they have a lot to be sorry for. If you want to know who is responsible you need not look further than a mirror... and I include myself in that assessment. We had a costly war that is still eating up the treasury, idiots who bought homes they couldn't afford, people who spent riduculous amounts on credit cards, and numerous amounts of scams.

While a person on wall street's greed may share more of the blame than your average mechanic, we can not say that we average Jane's and Joe's are completely innocent. As long as we live with this mentality that we all want tons of money and tons of STUFF we all share the blame in this Economy's collapsing.

I'm no Socialist but we already tried the Hand's off government approach.... If anything we need more and more regulation. History of this country sides with Regulation... When Teddy Roosevelt put forth regulation country improved.... Later on when his cousin FDR put forth regulation it improved again, and no self respecting American would call them socialists. Anyone see a common trend here???

We already have evidence of this - the Chrysler deal where Obama and the Treasury not the courts decided how it was going to be for creditors. Age old bankruptcy laws have been violated. Taxpayers fleeced.

It the same pattern for Obama -

Obama argued for public campaign financing, used private campaign financing, now he is for campaign finance reform.

Obama was against earmarks in bills, signed a bill with earmarks, now is for earmark reform.

Obama was against having lobbyist work in his administration - guess what.

Obama was against military tribunals - guess what

Obama was for "ethics and transparency" - Obama won't even release the visitor lists to the White House. Not to mention all the tax cheats working in his administration.

As his poll numbers fall, some are no longer in denial. Others have really been "HAD" by this president.

Oh, I left out that he still has Bush's Secretary of Defense and 60% of Bush's staffers working for him. No elected opposite party president has ever kept such.

Obama didn't bring change to Washington, Washington changed Obama.

If your site of reference for Obama grabbing Power is Star Wars, I don't hold that much validity to your argument. Say what you will, trust me I have, so far he has proven to not be what the American people voted for, but he's no dictator.... I am proud of his foreign relation skills though... Never thought I'd see them waving American flags in France.

Hopefully someday we will have a president that represents the people and doesn't just completely follow the money.

I don't think anyone that's been involved with Washington so far would qualify......Washington seems to diminish common sense.

Well I'm still an optimist. It's still very early in the presidency, and the world already hate's us a lot less, and the economy is showing signs of improvement. I still think it's not enough but there is still time for "Change" as one President promised... I just wish he would stop being such a chicken ****.
