I love my country but also know we do some pretty dumb things... It's unfortuante and things need to change but you are right the MAIN thing should be looking after your own, putting money into that, not running off and taking care of things that aren't any of our business..

well I agree with ya there.

USA health care is a shambles. I do not know the numbers, but I can pretty much guarantee the cost of health care here is the highest in the world.
thanks,we will check it out:thumbsup:

actually I dont define myself by any label. I just hope and pray that EVERYONE gets medical when needed. Ive lived in the usa and seen first hand how people with no medical were treated. LIKE Garbage!!! Ive seen things that would NEVER BE tolerated in my country. Why should people with a low income die because they dont have enough money to get that operation???? All people.....should have the right to be healthy. And if that is taken out of their taxes, so be it. I was told when I lived in the usa to not get pregnant for 6 months, or my "insurance" wouldnt cover it. Welllllllllllll guess what???? I got pregnant!!slaphead I dont even want to talk about what happened...........frown

I think people are afraid......afraid of the unknown????

Believe me.......its alot more affordable to be "socialist" medicine than your insurance laden medical.

Im not saying my country is better but the medical definately is.

The only drawback and Ive talked about this with some americans is that when a person is say........89 years old. Are we going to do that liver transplant???slaphead

Healthcare in the U.S. is by far some of the best in the world, the best that money can buy, your money, and you better have plenty of it.

I know 16 year olds on Medicare. Its not just for old people

Medicaid is state sponsored insurance for low income. If you get SSI you prolly get Medicaid too
i did av a quick look 2 day,and it seems that if your loaded you could get into the states, and you have 2 pass lots off test 2 get 2 the US"i did see also it is just as hard 2 work there for a year.we can see now why everbody comes to the UK as it seems they will let anybody inlaugh

One strange thing bout american's is how we CAN respond to things like this.

Sometimes it is possible for a deserving persons to receive all kinds of 'help' (even more than they can handle).

Othertimes we can walk right by one that needs and see them not.

But then again with all the scams floating around... How can we judge what is...?

As of 2006, the United States accepts more legal immigrants as permanent residents than any other country in the world.[1] In 2006, the number of immigrants totaled 37.5 million.[2][3]

The number of persons naturalized in the United States increased 58% from 660,477 in 2007 to an all-time record of 1,046,539 in 2008.[4]

Just some food for thought.
