Topic: How Are You Handling THE SWITCH? | |
---|---|
So, most of us know that they have now switched from analog to DTV... Has anyone noticed a difference?
We have 5 TVs in our household...4 of 'em hooked up to cable...the 5th being in my bedroom. I haven't gotten the converter box yet...& I miss my night sleepy-time noise in the background! Fortunately, our station is playing a 10min loop about converting...don't know how long that will last...so I resorted to reading (which I love anyway) & having that for my "white noise" to sleep with...sad really... But, on the upside, I believe I've learned subliminally how to hook up & scan the converter...just in case anyone wants to know... |

I've had cable for many years, however i'm the last one in the house that has a old tube tv, it still works great!

I have extremely basic cable at my apartment. So I have lost some channels. I will be moving soon and already have my antenna and converter box. I tried it in the apartment I have now and I can't get anything with it (probably due to being half underground). I am hoping that I get more than one stuck channel at the new apartment.

I have satellite (Dish) and not noticed a difference. I'm thinking of switching to cable in the fall... and hope any/all bugs get worked out before then.

It should be Most men suck because the switch to digital tv is their fault, analog wasn't good enough for them! |

I have had cable for years so nope have not seen any difference at all.
There has been areas that actually were giving the converter box's away for free to those that needed them. |

The "Switch" SUCKSSSS!!!!
I have 2 tv's, 2 converter boxes and 2 digital anttennas. They say "if your reception is poor, move it around like this". Didn't we stop moving anttennas around like that 40 years ago. The switch is a step, or two, backwards. My screen freezes, I get diagonal white lines through the picture. I'm just gonna start watchin' on my etch a sketch!!! |

There was a government program where they were giving away 40 dollar coupons (2 per household). It ended already though...shouldn't have procrastinated. I've always had digital cable from (blech, Comcast). But like someone else mentioned my tv in my bedroom doesn't have a cable box...oh well. I'll just have to smoke more pot and quickly move a picture book back and forth to simulate tv.

Was set for it at the first deadline. Then when they finally switched it had to reset the stations again. Irritating.
