Well, everyone had such great advice for Eddie with his leg cramps...

Can anyone help me with my sciatic nerve problem? I'm not kidding...it has been a literal pain in the azz for 3 days now & I do not know how I could've injured it...just woke up that way... Wearing my back brace helps a little but I really don't want to be all gimpy for Bry's party this weekend...Help?

I study massage (so that I had another tool in my arsenal in seducing woman from Texas), if I remember one of the things they taught for that was to have the person lie on their stomach bend their leg and we would gently pound the heel of the foot.

see if you can find something to reduce the inflammation

lay on the floor

put you feet into a chair

thus your you will be like sitting in a chair only backwards

it may take a while but i have to do this a lot

hope you are feeling better soon

Thank you for the advice, Adj...but how the hell do you get down to the floor in the first place?

And as far as meds are concerned, I only have access to aspirin or Tylenol...but thanks for the help everyone...flowerforyou

Most chiropractors have portable traction tables for rent. Its about the size of a small suitcase with carrying handle. You open it up, place on floor, strap yourself in laying flat, and turn it on. It spreads, pulling your disk off the pinched sciatic nerve, easing your pain. Usually covered under insurance. Most chiropractors have a traction table in their office. 2 hour session with heat and pressure and you will feel new again.

sit on the couch

then mange to roll onto the floor (carefully)

then put your legs up on the couch if no other item is available

google this [ reducing inflamtion ] alot of sites came up

may be something to help

but it does have some long term diet ideas on a couple of them

Oh! You know...my Dad rigged something like that up for himself many moons ago...some 2 x 4's for a frame, pulleys, weights, & some hooks on his back brace...it certainly gave him relief. I'm just wondering about heat VS icing it down...I know that if you use the wrong one, you can mess up your back even more...

That nerve is the diameter of your thumb and runs most of the length of your body. They get pinched in buttocks and spinal areas. I'd go to your local chiropractor. Tell em you don't need a physical or an assessment and that you'd just like a traction session- 16 to 20% of your weight for an hour to get a disk off your sciatic nerve. Should be 40 to 60 dollars. And covered under insurance. This is your best bet. And yes- you can tell I've been there. Broken back- 6 months traction- in 2000.
