Most chiropractors have portable traction tables for rent. Its about the size of a small suitcase with carrying handle. You open it up, place on floor, strap yourself in laying flat, and turn it on. It spreads, pulling your disk off the pinched sciatic nerve, easing your pain. Usually covered under insurance. Most chiropractors have a traction table in their office. 2 hour session with heat and pressure and you will feel new again.

Oh! You know...my Dad rigged something like that up for himself many moons ago...some 2 x 4's for a frame, pulleys, weights, & some hooks on his back brace...it certainly gave him relief. I'm just wondering about heat VS icing it down...I know that if you use the wrong one, you can mess up your back even more...

cold always makes an increase in pain for me unless it is a fresh injury

i deal with it every day

i would use heat in 20 minute increments

if you do get yourself onto the floor and get your feet up try pulling your knees up to your chin as far as you can (keep them bent)

I switched to aleve and got away from tylenol.

Try cayenne pills. Gets blood flow across areas that don't flow well.

Horseback riding worked best for my sciatia. Gentle rocking motion strengthened the back easily.

there is something to that

a lot of the "special" kids that have mobility problems respond to hippotherapy. there is something about the gait of a horse that is therapeutic.

Causes the muscles to work without really being a ' work out'. Its what saved my butt. I took in a bunch of medical info to my doc. Never had to have surgery to fuse my spine.
