Then I don't see what Delsoldamien is getting all wound up about.

I saw her on the news today saying that she's been set up. She thinks it goes back to the "gay" statement.

Absolutely, she committed a offense against the current social sensibilities.

Freedom of speech is fine until you say something disagreeable.

For all you that claimed that she breached her contract by not showing up to events, here is a few words from the director of the california pagent..

Following a week of bitter feuds, former Miss California Carrie Prejean and pageant executive Keith Lewis spoke out on allegations regarding the beauty queen's firing.

Lewis agreed that Prejean didn't "miss" any appearances — but also says she didn't agree to any.

So I think we need to check our fact before we assume something that the media stirs up...:)

1. her response to the question giving at the pagent was how she felt. she would have caught it from the other side as well. it was a controversial question...so of course any answer would be controversial

2. the pagent committee already ruled on the pictures....so that is a non-issue

3. she is NOT doing her duties now. Not showing up (unless medical condition or something like that) does mean she isn't doing as she is supposed to

And you know for certian that she is not living up to her contract?? or are you taking the word of people that tried to flog her in the national news rooms???

even not setting up appearances goes against the contract. the pagent winner has obligations. just like someone working in marketing....if they don't market the company...they aren't doing their job

I don't know enough about that part, but being in business it is easy to find some loophole to make things happen when you want to fire someone..I will have to wait to find out more about the facts before I make my judgement, and that is all I asked of all those that wanted to jump to conclusions based on cyber talk instead of facts.

as pageant winners...they do have obligations and PR appearances. now if she was doing these (whether she canceled or didn't schedule any) then she breeched the contract. it comes with the crown...plain and simple.

Let me ask you a question, if they would have fired her for her beliefs, would she have a right to sue them, and what would be the public outcry from that happening??? And if you had an employee that made you look like and idiot in public and caused great controversy to yourself and business, would you fire her for that or would you be smart and look for some other way to fire her???

as I have stated before...I personally had no problem with her stating her belief to a controversial question. that was a no win situation. but this is a job and if you don't do your job, you get fired. plain and simple

if people want to use the first 2 things i mentioned...that's fine. i believe she should have been fired when she didn't do her job. she gets endorsements, scholarships, prize money, etc.

but if people want to blame other things: look at it this way

1. her response to a controversial question (IMO i had no problem with her responding to her belief)....but it was a controversy

2. the photos...they were ruled and allowed to pass by the board...but then again...controversy

3. not doing appearance (for whatever reason)...breach of contract and yet more controversy

how many strikes before someone is out?

Has anyone hired her yet? She got a book deal yet?

This is a b.s. publicity stunt, notice no one talks about the winner but only her.

She wasn't fired because of her beliefs.
