The Koko'pe'le' in the surf is actually stippled white and black inks, the body is silver and blue waterbase the surf and notes are clear coat laquer with mettal flake in it so the whole thing colourshifts. I gave it to Phuque when we met. It is a pretty big painting.

Leonardo da Vinci
Ginevra de' Benci [obverse], c. 1474/1478

This painting is one of only like thirteen da Vinci paintings in existence, and I think it's fortunate that we have one of them here in the U.S. This painting, particularly in comparison to the other early oil paintings is incredible for its time. The three-dimensionality of the subject's face is noticeably different from portraits done by other artists in the Rennaissance period. I thought it was breathtaking when I saw it.

you asked where the art is online and off. where you can meet people to talk about impressionist and post impression art.

so i told ya. most major cities have a thriving art underground. you just need to find it. take an art class. art history classes also. meet others who are interested in the same thing as you.

or check out deviantart.com

My favorite artist isn’t what you guys would call a ‘traditional’ artist. He works in comic books. Quit laughing. Eduardo Risso is an Argentinean artist who did all 100 issues of my all time favorite crime story 100 Bullets. His artwork is as dark and gritty as the subject matter, and IMHO is unparalleled in his medium.
Personally I believe the comic book medium is an underrated one, and believe that you can find the best writing and art in them than you can find anywhere.
