If you like impressionist art then you need to go to the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in Manahattan. The entire basement level is a circular impressionist gallery. I've sat there for hours at a time.

I got the watch in Santa Fe...!

Downtown Santa Fe is packed with art galleries and museums. Ever since Georgia O'Keefe moved there many many moon ago, a lot of artists followed her there.

You'll love it, I'm telling ya.

Now do me a favor and don't make this a habit of starting serious threads.

When should we expect the pic release of the much anticipated Billy Boobies?

LOL no prob...around 10pm EST

Dude, this summer, take a little trip to Santa Fe, New Mexico. If you love art, you will love Santa Fe. Just the Georgia O'Keefe museum is worth the trip to Santa Fe, but there is much, much more.

My favorite artist is Dali, and I got my Dali watch to prove it.

I must have one!!

TN has a cool mini-Parthenon.

I enjoy Western type art, animals,sci-fi/fantasy (I like Vallejo and Rowena) and such.

If you do yahoogroups, you may find people of similar interests chatting via email.

You do, almost literally, get lost in another world down there.

Lilypetal,

You probably know more about Dali than I. What do you think the significance of the ant is on the face of the watch, placed at precisely 9:45?

what

Ah. Bob 'the ironman' Ross. He's the best.

My personal favorite artist/work is 'The Fairy Feller's Master Stroke' by Richard Dadd.

So you don't think the ant being placed at exactly 9:45 has any signifacance? I guess they had to put it somehere, right?

Yeah, the occasional art thread will pop up and that is cool. What is available locally (artwise) is predicated by the community and population mass of where you live.

I ain't gonna bother listing my line up of artists that I consider to be no talent hacks..cause, most of you guys would lynch me. But, to each thier own. I like how many people dig crap work. Makes the real artists works that much more impressive.

A few that I really admire...

DaVinci
Michelangelo
The Dutch Masters
Escher
Olivia (RAWKS)
George Petty...(predecessor to Antonio Vargas)
and many more....

I looked around for an answer to that, but I didn't find anything. All of his clocks in his work are at 6:55, so I have no clue.
