Topic: Worst jobs ever had. | |
---|---|
Anyone care to talk about some of the worst jobs they have ever had?I have had my fair share. Some of my highlights...
Calling old people to ask if they had made their funeral arrangements. Working in a warehouse that sterilized medical equipment.Boxes would go into a huge room that pumped it full of lethal radiation.I would then unload these boxes which felt like they came out of a microwave. There was only one other guy who worked there and he had a bad stutter when he talked and told me that he didn't talk that way until he started working there. That was my first and last day of work there. Working in a foundry that was so dirty all the lights were blacked out from the soot.To light and heat the place in the morning we had numerous empty 55 gallon drums with gas lines in the bottom of them. When lit they threw flames about 6 feet in the air.It looked like I was working in hell. Working as a laborer in a brick factory and scrap metal yard. |

1990. $3.35 an hour.
I used to work for a produce distributor and he would occasionally buy boxcars ( railroad boxcars ) of tomatoes or onions or potatoes that were just on the verge of going bad. Part of my job, other than being a delivery driver, was to help go through the boxcar of stuff and pick out the ones that were still good. Let me tell you, going through a whole boxcar of half rotted produce is a job that I wouldn't wish on even my most bitter enemy. |

I worked at a family restaurant that was located in a bad area where people didn't know where it was. Getting paid 2.35 an hour, I really relied on tips. Some nights were booming, others were slow. Then there were nights where we were completely dead, so we shut down early for the night. Not cool to have a job like this when you have bills to pay. It got me by, but by the skin of my teeth.

my last job actually. Security. $60 a night. A night lasts from 5pm to 6am. At the end I was working 6 nights a week. Easy job but nothing is tolerable for 80 hours a week. |

I am currently working at a job where it was once you may consider "the worst job I've ever had." It was an entry-level position which later now in fact a better position. So in all cases, usually you have to start at the bottom anyway in most profession. It is all about your zest for to improve your worth inside the organization so that hopefully people will see how beneficial your work is for them.

All I'm saying is that if you walk into a place and the employees look super sketchy and gross, WALK BACK OUT! Fortunately, I live in a relatively rural area. The restaurants and fast food joints in this area don't really have a big problem with " sketchy " employees. I am definitely a lot more careful in the cities. |

I worked for a family company; brother, sister, two daughters and a cousin. All of them where bipolar. Now THAT was a hostile work environment.

Three letters...KFC. Chicken hell. Don't eat it Wuss.. Mine was slopping out 2 chicken houses that held 3,000 chickens. I'd turn the water on at one end, and then start pulling the straw out at the other end as it got flushed out. Try that when it's been 105 degrees for a week or two. |

Kids can be a handful when serving them...especially if the parents aren't doing anything to control them. Had kids destroy a bathroom at my job. |
