Could you fall in love and have a happy relationship with someone that is a nudist though you are not one yourself?

I'm finding that people have huge misconceptions about nudism and it is quite disconcerting.

So, what say you?

For me love wouldn't be the question. For a happy relationship I think a certain degree of compatibility is required.

I'm personally not comfortable in the nude. Mainly for practical reason. Not because I'm worried about people seeing me, but I'd be concerned about getting my hicky accidentally caught in the washing machine wringer or something like that. laugh

Clothes are nice for tucking things away. bigsmile

But seriously, I find clothes to be quite comfortable and practical.

I also confess that there are other issues as well. Not moral issues, but I have a thing for 'voyeurism' of sorts. Not public voyeurism, but just private voyeurism with my partner. It works in both directions too.

In other words I find very skimpy revealing lingerie to be quite exciting and provocative. If we were always naked that would become the norm and then the excitement of voyeurism would be lost.

I suppose this may seem like a superficial thing to some, but it's meaningful to me.

So in terms of loving someone, it wouldn't be a problem. But in terms of having a happy relationship I feel that there would be some incompatibility there. I like clothes. That's all there is to it. bigsmile

I've never met a nudist in my state. lol
yep... it's to damn cold here to be a nudist noway

Minx... wanna meet a couple LOL.

Jill actually there is a landed club in Mo call Show Me Acres in Stover (Gee I wonder what that means LOL). There are also non-landed clubs all over the state that rent facilities out in their entirety like bowling alleys and enclosed swimming pools that sort of thing.

Winx.

Meet a couple? Maybe. If they're clothed.laugh flowerforyou

Have you been to Stover? I've heard of the town. It's very, very small - under 1,000 people. It's somewhere near the Lake of the Ozarks.

I do have a question. Is it common in your area?

It's surprisingly common throughout the US and the world. The state with the highest percentage of clubs is Florida, but Ca I think is a close second.

Hmm.....warm weather and beaches.

Common in my area? Well I imagine it is a bit more common all over than you might think it just isn't quite as easy out there as it is here because of the climate challenges.

Yes, we do have climate challenges for that.

No, I'd be too embarassed to invite company over for dinner.

Realistically, being a nudist or not shouldn't be all that big of an issue. After all, we're all brought into this world naked so why should there be any issues after that?

Anyone with nudity issues have other more latent issues to be worked out before they do anything else. That goes ESPECIALLY when it comes to such things as relationships.

I'd say that depends on what you are still putting on. I know a lot of nudist women who wear simple surrongs and the like .

Just because someone is a nudist does not mean they aren't going to wear clothing when company is coming over.

Under 1,000? well not that unusual for nudist places. Even though they are completely gated and hidden from public view, I like most nudists have no desire to offend anyone who is not, it's often necessary to pick less populated area's to avoid conflicts with neighbors.

I do know a few people in your area. If you are truly curious nudist groups generally have clothed meetings where they introduce themselves. Generally held at places like pizza parlors and such where you can have a meal and get to know the people.

It's Not for me

The man of few words speaks:wink:

Why not Pat?

To abnormal & besides nobody wants to see me nude unless it's in the darkill

Hmm, thinking about this a bit more. Do you know that it is estimated that 25% of all Americans will say they have been to a nude beach or been in some other form of non-sexual social nudity? Are you saying a full quarter of the population in the US is abnormal? Kinda goes against the definition of abnormal don't you think?

I would have no problem dating someone who is a nudist. Communication and compromise is the keys to a relationship.

Would I ever consider going to a resort or what not... possibly.

I could not agree more.

Very open minded of you. It is that kind of thinking that leads to the types of relationship that work no matter what the differences might be. Whether it's nudism, religion or political affiliation.
