the more I read and research the more I find that I am being taxed and no I am not in the 250K/yr bracket. (for examples)

cigarettes
insurance
state and local increases - ie, licenses, tags, etc.
property taxes
cutting of local programs - which in fact were supposed to increase

When will I feel stimulated?

That's an awful broad and misleading thought.

Who's to say what is your States fault, or if any of the increases on your list were pre-planned and inevitable?

Not at all, just sharing my opinion - regardless of whose fault it is, I am the one not feeling any of the tax breaks nor economic stimulus.

Give it time.
The get rich overnight opportunities are going to be hard to come by now!

They were what drove us into this hole.
They were false opportunities where the effects to our overall economy were inevitable.
Too quick, too fast, and inevitably fleeting.

Now we're back to hard work and patient endurance.
Sustained growth rewarding life long patience and hard work!

I've worked hard my entire life, raised 6 children, served my country, lost my savings and future to a now worthless 401K....

I don't mind being a worker bee, they keep the hive going, but I'm nobody's slave.

When you put that much work into something you expect to have something to show for it, so your opinion offends me and my intelligence, Fanta, as I'm sure it does many others as well!

New federal taxes on tobacco has DOUBLED the cost of roll your own cigs.

Oh yeah, tax the rich.

Those of us that roll our own are trying to save a few bucks, because here in MI we have some of the highest tobacco taxes already.

A cigarette tax is not a class tax.
It is a sin tax and effects all groups regardless of income.

What's your point?
Although many of the taxes on that list do not always apply. (city, State?, property, sin)
Do we not all benefit from some just the same?

Fanta, what's your point? I said what I meant, taxes are just that taxes, doesn't matter what you call them they are still taxes, I have yet to feel any relief. Not bad mouthing anyone but also not feeling any relief. Finding myself taxed here, taxed there and no relief - that's my point

Corrupt government with many corrupt politicians (I didn't say all), funded and backed by corrupt corporations, supporting a corrupt banking cartel in control of our money.

That is the problem! They have swindled and oppressed the poor, attempted to remove our rights and abilities to defend ourselves against them. Now for those who still have a little independence (those making $250,000 or more) is their next target.

It's your state taxes that fund most ALL government. Even the Fed Govt.. Since each state is incorporated within the union and pays its dues to support it, individual Fed tax is a double tax!

The Fed is supposed to levy taxes and tariffs on incorporated (states and business) entities, not the people! Services render by the government are provided to the states, after they have applied their fees, taxes and tariffs. We pay those fees through our states because the charges are passed down to us by those states.

Federal Income Tax on an individual is unlawful and unconstitutional, a double tax for the same goods or services!

It is greed that is to blame! A corrupt, non-working, monetary system they have led us to believe is of our choice, while they control it. Government officials are not our choice, just our selections of their choices. Put the blame where it belongs!

Put all government jobs (House, Senate, Congress, Presidency) on a $1 salary (with amenities provided by the states, much like they used to do with church pastors), remove corporate lobbyists, abolish the FED and put our currency back in the hands of the Treasury under Senate oversight, and see who wants to be a politician!

Take away their checkbook in our names! Instead of war, JOBS! A strong military is needed, but not war, DEFENSE! WHO CAN TERRORIZE A NATION SO POWERFUL? Get a clue! You smack a hornets nest with a stick and you will always get stung! They created the terror, they promote it, and they will keep it going as long as there is a dime in your pocket for the taking! When we are broke, how can we hope to compete in a game that is all about power and money?

If the American people simply said "ENOUGH!" and went on strike, we might get change. We are the power, not the politicians or government! They are supposed to work for us, not the other way around!

Send their sons and daughters to war. Put them under the same Social Security System benefits they offer us. Most are millionaires anyway, why do they need such retirement packages and benefits?

How can they solve any problem they can't understand? They have no concept of poor, hardship, or hotdogs because you can't afford decent meat for a meal. They have no concept of the results of their actions. Medical coverage? Insurance? Think they really have a clue?

As always, jmo.

The addage rob Peter to pay Paul comes to mind when we talk about taxes in this country. It is all an illusion that we are benifitting from being taxed. If the cigarette tax actually went to help people quit or pay medical expenses that would be fine. The problem is it goes to pay for the pay raises for congress.

But all "sins" are not taxed equally, nor are the "sinners" getting any representation for their taxes.

No new taxes on booze because "it might hurt the hospitality industry"

And if you are poor a greater percentage of your dollars are going to taxes.

I find fewer and fewer things 'sinful' I think I should pay less tax devil

Call it any type of tax you want - a tax is just that a tax, it reduces my monies while promising/offering/suggesting the monies will be used for something I could or could not care about... let me spend my own money thank you.
