Davey Allison was the best, he died and Robert Yates has yet to have a
good season since!!!
Cooperate Teams like Hendrix is ruining Nascar!!

Open your eyes just a bit wider. The other teams will soon be just as
big as Hendricks and there is a cap on how many drivers allowed per
team. This is a new generation. Out with the old and in with the new.
You know as well as I do that the old teams cheated their asses off
trying to get a leg up on the next team. The cheating is now coming to a
halt real quick. The purest of the bunch with the quickest pit crew and
the highest tech equipment is where it's at now days. No more
fighting...no more bangin and smashin' just because. The precision teams
will win from now on. The hot heads will roll away like Kyle Busch's
did. Get out of the past...It's dead and gone!!

I'll always root for the real driver's. Ive watched NASCAR since it was
the Grand National Series!(1965) I cut my teeth on drivers like fireball
Roberts, Lee roy Yarbourough, The Bakers, the Allisons, David Pearson,
and Richard Petty! The good ole days when it was fun!
I liked Earnhart Jr. when he was trying at DEI. Now hes just another
Hendrix driver. Another face in the crowd, a sale out! There will always
be Real pure drivers around and I will always root for them! Thats what
NASCAR was, and always will be! A southern sport started and built by
southerners! Not this Yankee doodle bull**** of today! NASCAR died when
they did away with the North Wilkesboro Track and the Holly Farms 500!
Way before they considered Toyota an American Stock Car!!

i dont think dale jr sold out. i think he wants to be his own man and
get out from behind his dad's HUGE shadow. he gained most of his fans
how??? because they were his father's fans first. he got their devotion
by relation, not because he was "dale no-name" and he was an
up-and-comer out to make a name for himself. he already had a name - a
name that represents the entire sport of nascar. but junior is NOT his
father and never tried to be. just because his last name is Earnhardt
does not mean that he MUST stay with DEI, especially if he is not happy
there. if any other big-name driver went over to Hendrick no one would
say that that person was "selling out". they would just be switching
teams which happens in every other major sport all the time. junior
needed a change, a fresh start, a place where he can be himself and just
have fun being a racecar driver knowing that he is with one of the best
teams in nascar (if not THE best). junior wants to win a championship,
but he wants to do it his own way, surrounding himself with people who
want to and can help him get there. who cares if he does it with DEI or
Hendrick or Gibbs or RCR or whoever? if you're a fan of dale earnhardt
jr because he is dale earnhardt JR, and NOT because he's dale senior's
son, you should be happy to root for him no matter what team he is
racing for.

laugh laugh laugh laugh laugh
I made that mistake and rooted for the name!
I should thank him for the wake=up call. Ilooked hard for another driver
and didnt pick him because of the name! I should have went with Newman
or Edwards, but eh, I thought Jr. had heart (wrong)!
There is a lot more to racing and life than just winning! He was rooted
and cheered for racing against the Hendrick teams. He couldnt beat them
so he joined them!
When he was growing up, him and his Daddy didnt get along very well.
Mostly over the same spoiled little boy stuff like this! I guess you are
too young to know about that. It was only just before Dale sr, died that
they had started to reconcile their relationship!
Dale jr has built a career off his name, and he should try to live up to
it! Not cry, because he doesnt winn every week. There is something to be
said for, "I did it my way," and he couldnt. He has blamed it on Tony
Eury jr., then because of not having Tony jr., now on Threasa! He needs
to grow up, what will he blame it on next? Thats the question I wait to
see answered!
Lakeman, The Intimidator is a name given to Dale #3, by his compeditors
because he intimidated them! It was given with awe and love, because
they could not beat him at the game he did better than anyone!
RACING!!!!!!

if junior had no heart and was just racing for his namesake he would
have stayed at DEI. i applaud him for moving on to greener pastures. no,
winning isnt everything, but what does one race for if it isnt to win???
the intimidator didnt push ppl out of his way to finish second now did
he?

junior is trying to make a name for himself - not live up to his
father's name. thats the whole point. nobody can live up to dale
senior, so i dont blame junior for not even trying. if he needs to move
on and do his own thing then so-be-it. he stayed at DEI for as long as
he could to keep his fans (or should i say his dad's fans) happy. it
didnt work out...maybe someday years down the road it will, but i wont
condemn him for trying something else until then.

oh and ps - dale earnhardt SENIOR got mr hendrick his first ever win, so
i guess we'll have to ridicule him because he didnt get ALL of his wins
at RCR. little did he know he made that win for his "enemy", or so YOU
say. laugh

Never said any such thing!grumble

Jr. wants life giving to him. he should have stayed and made DEI a
winner!drinker

He wants everything handed to him. He doesnt understand the word EARN!!!

Cricket I could not have said it any better.I commend you for your
oustanding knowledge of the roots of DEI and the sports history in
general...Great stuff girl!!
Now then....Jr. does not want a gift...he wants an even playing field
with the best so that he can compete and be the best of the best. The
other teams are playing catch-up right now because the smarter Hendricks
team took the COT developement more seriously than anyone else and
mastered the thing right away. That is what keeps a winner on top and
the Whiners on the bottom. Sure Jr. could have banged his head against
the wall for the next 20 years. He decided not to. He is sick of racing
for a mediocre team that only throws out the money AFTER the tragedies
happen. You have to have foresight and the balls to invest in the future
or you will be in the Petty garage!! That's like buying a bilge pump
after the boat has sunk!! It makes no sense.Jr. wanted to EARN his way.
He did everything that he could possibly do for that team. Teresa was
not budging so, he left! Good for you Junior...We will see you in New
York collecting your championship trophies.bigsmile drinker

The crazy thing is I agree and disagree with all three of you. First and foremost there is only one Dale Earnhardt and only one Dale Earnhardt Jr. Look closely… the names are as different as the people.
Fanta46.. if you were a true Earnhardt fan you would show it by standing beside his son. Weather he is your favorite driver or not. If you talked about his son to his face the way you are talking about him in here.. I am afraid to see what would happen to you. Theresa is only an Earnhardt by chance not by blood. Jr. has it in his heart to be a champion but felt he couldn’t get there from where he was. Let’s face it.. neither Jr. or Theresa would a thing about racing if it wasn’t for Dale. He helped make nascar what it is today.
Lake I thought I liked you until you started bashing Dales driving skills. You said it yourself.. It’s new times. He would have to do just as every other driver has to do and that’s adjusting to the rules being made to help the sport. Don’t tell me you think that these young guns haven’t been spinning out other drivers to win races. That hasn’t changed a bit. Ell they spin each other out in the pits for Christ sake. The only thing that has changed about it is you get fined for it if you get caught doing it wrong.
Jeff Gorden is not one of my favorite drivers but he wins races solely because he has good equipment supplied by one of Dale Earnhardt’s close friends. Sell out.. I don’t think so.

LOL...Yea I did go overboard because I was pissed at the time. Dale Sr. was a hell of a driver and I made it sound like he wasn't. I was just trying to point out that Nascar has really changed in recent years and it would have been difficult for him to change his style after racing after competing all those years as an intimidator. Interviews with drivers all said that they hated seeing him in the rear view mirror because they knew they were aboout to get hit if they did not move out of the way!Nascar does not put up with that any more. If Earnhardt would still be driving...he could not win using those methods and would have lost 100 points points every time that he tried it! Nobody will ever know how well he would hjave adapted to those changes. You can talk all you want about it but that will never be answered. I always have been a fan of Sr..I was just trying to make a point!drinker

Dale Jr needed to get out of his fathers shadow and no better can he do that then going with Hendrick motorsports. Bud will no longer be his sponsor but Sony will now be his full time sponsor. Jr will drive a Green car next year for Hendrick the number is most likely going to be the no.81. As good as he is at DEI i cant wait til his has some real power in his car daytona 500 winner anyone! haha

Why do you say his number will be 81??. I thought he would get the 5. Pepsi\Mountain Dew is supposed to be his major sponsor. That's why the car will be green(ewe). He is also looking at Adidas I believe for a sponsor. Things can change though. It's a long time till Daytona!!drinker drinker

I said no.81 because they said that is supposed to be his number. Sony signed on about 2 weeks ago as the primary sponsor to replace budweiser. Adidas has signed on along with other sponsors. this is the first i have heard of Pepsi mountain dew being his primary sponsor. maybe they have a co-sponsor deal throughout the season next year. i know that alot can happen before daytona. Kyle busch is rumored to be in the 8 car next year with Bud as his primary sponsor but you never know in nascar.

Kyle is up in the air and still has made no decision. The Mountain dew announcement is scheduled to be done at the Indianapolis track.
