I do not envy you in the position you're in, but admire the fact that you will risk the friendship to do so. It obviously has to be done. Let's hope she takes it as it was intended and does something about it. flowerforyou

You are very welcome....this way...she knows you are telling the truth and the girl can't hide it.

Without a doubt you should tell...

Don't even hesitate. She is looking for trouble and she WILL find it on MySpace. MySpace is crawling with sexual predators and pedophiles. And looks like this girl is attention starved.

You'll feel guilty if you do nothing and then something aweful happens to her.

Live up to your name Gossip, and spill the beans! lol

i had to tell my neighbors before, there was something like that on their daughters profile too . the daughter had asked me to be her friend on there she was 13. i looked at her profile once in a while , after about 5 months i saw something that worried me also.. it was less than what you are mentioning but still.. so i told her parents, now the parents did not tell the daughter who told.. but she wasnt even supposed to have a myspace account..

I was cruising around myspace. I found my friends daughters page. She is posing as a 23 year old. Her picture s are sexual in nature with boys and girls!!
She is listing herself as a swinger looking for fun. I was shocked. Do I tell her mom?
She's only 16!!!

There is also the possibility that some scammer has stolen your friend's daughter's picture .

Sadly, I've heard this happens also.

you know what? that is a really tough call! i guess it depends on you and your friend.

one thing you might want to do is archive the page or print it out so that you have a hard copy just in case it goes "POOF".

also as suggested above, sometimes these things are in fact faked as a joke or with stolen pictures etc. but eventually you will need to have a heart to heart with your friend. it seems very likely that this is a high school prank gone wild but it is worrying enough that it should not go without a serious discussion.

You should tell the Mom, no matter what happens you are looking out for the young girl and you will know you did the right thing.

My Ex had to ask his sister about her daughters page, because she was younger than 16 at the time. Her mom said yes she knew and that she goes on her page and checks out what is going on. So all was good I guess.

My best friends, Ex has a page for there son he is only 4, but I think it is stupid. What is the point???

I would go to the daughter first and let her know you saw it and you are very concerned for her safety. You dont have to be confrontational or accusatory. Just the fact that you have confronted her will let her know that you are aware and she will take down the page herself. If not, then address the mother about it. The choice is yours. These kids forget that suggestive photos dont suddenly disappear off the net. They can follow her for years into the future and effect her potential employment, relationships, college applications...uhh. Its serious business and the worst thing is that people do it to themselves simply to gain attention.

do it go tell . I came across a 14 year old posing as a 50 year old on my space I called her school counslour and let them know. She had listed what school she went to. They knew all about her but not that she was useing myspace...they assured me that they would contact the parents.. I have to wonder why this kids think it so "kewl" to be posing as someone else.

The kids do this....they must pre-plan an age so that they can find each other on myspace. I've seen it time and time again when I had an account there. I think they assume they will be out of the search criteria if parents try to search for them that way too. I've seen cell phone numbers directly on their headlines. My daughter is banned from these sites.

Hummmm if nothing else like some have said print the page up so they can see for themselves and put it in there hands to look at no words would have to be spoken you could just say I think you might want to know about this for your daughters safety then it is up to them what they in fact do with the information. At least it will give you a clear mind knowing you did what you could.

Oh one other thing thats important to mention. I saw an episode of "Law and Order" that depicted a similar situation although this girl was underage and sending nude and sexually explicit photos of herself to males at her own high school in the same age range.

She ended up being arrested for soliciting child pornography! It does not matter if the photos are of the person themselves. You can not traffic that over the internet. Its child pornography either way.

Is this a trick question? You have a moral obligation to say something..

What ever repercussions you think you might experience from saying something is nothing compared to what might happen if you don't... So, I would say something today.. Not tomorrow! Today!

You have to be assertive in a loving way with teens or they will walk all over you..Showing love for a child is giving them constructive rules to live by.. They will get over it one day and understand why you did it.. If they don't then- oh well.. You know it was the right thing...and by the looks of it most parents and adults agree...

So, please do it today...
