Best way to get a 2 year old dog potty trained? Frequent trips outside isn't working. She'll come back in even after hours in the kennel while I'm at work (outdoor kennel) and immediately pee on my floor.
p.s. This is the little stray beagle we adopted into our family. Have no clue what she did before she came to us. |

She's showing submission. When she does it correct her. "NO!" Take her out and stay with her till she goes. As soon as she is done reward her. This may take a while untill she gets the idea. Inside no, outside treat.

Maybe I should be a dog trainer. I once walked up to a dog and told it to breathe, and it did.

Basically you are the Alpha or lead dog of the pck. She is afraid of you. Not really fear but more like respect. You need to let her know that peeing inside displeases you and peeing outside pleases you. |

Keep her close to you at all times on a leash if you have too. Teach her the basics, sit, down, stay, come. Dogs generally won't pee where they sleep so have a small place where she can be put at night, that is not your bed. Do not trust her untill you can trust her. Remember it is a dog not a child. Don't make the mistake of mixing up the two. |

Have no idea, but usually keeping them in a kennel they won't go because that is thier personal place. Each time they go inside make sure they see it and tell them no with a small slap on the nose.
A place that knows far more than I do: http://www.canismajor.com/dog/hsetrain.html |

I found that waiting outside until they pee and lavishing them with praise worked for me. I also showed my dog the pee spot and with a deep tone said bad dog. It worked well.
Also, I clean the pee spots with vinegar to nullify the urine scent so they won't smell it again. I am not a trainer though. |

i ve had my daughters pups here for a month.. i put them in a crate at nite...n CARRY them out in the morning without letting them touch the floor ... carry her if shes not to oooo heavy to the spot you want her to go..????
i let the pups out in the floor for afew hours.. then outside for about 10 min.. male did a great job .. the female took a little longer... if you have a crate maybe it will work for you too..???? these pups were only 6 wks n when they left at 10 wks they were potty trained... good luck.. try anything i guess bigbay |
