Topic: Your state and smokers | |

How's you state as it comes to smoking? If you're a smoker, California will seem hostile toward you. You cannot smoke in most public places now, indoor or outdoor. You cannot even smoke now within 25 feet of a bus stop or train or trolley station now. I'm not a smoker so it doesn't bother me at all.

You cannot even smoke now within 25 feet of a bus stop or train or trolley station now. I'm not a smoker so it doesn't bother me at all. It should bother you. It isn't the government's job to keep people from being offended by others behavior. How long do you think it'll be before the government gets around to banning a behavior that you do? Or requiring you to do something you don't wish to? Just to mollify someone else's outrage... The smoking bans were done with the excuse that second hand smoke is harmful. If one looks at all the UNCHERRYPICKED evidence, it becomes clear that second hand smoke has little or no effect on public health. BUT, because some people find it offensive, they didn't let the actual facts deter them from working diligently to remove it from any place they could go. And like good little sheep, the public jumped on board the bandwagon. I find most perfumes and colognes offensive. They make my nose run and give me a headache. I should start a movement.... |

Georgia's not too bad. Still some places you can smoke indoors, as long as the minimum admission age is 18.
