As much of a jerk as I seem like, I wouldn't ever try to get anyone fired. Theres an iHop right across the street. But I will adress the issue with the person that has it, quietly and directly.

Everyone has bad days and everyone is human. I've popped off to a client before when they were...idiots and couldn't understand anything. But I cant get fired. Just not called back. And I don't need the work really. But I still apologized.

I think the only thing I would've done differently was to first quietly confront the waitress and ask for an explanation. If I detected any b.s. or was unsatisfied with her story, I would've proceeded exactly as Prisoner did.

I can relate prisoner. All of us can. But gee willickers wally, don't tell me you're one of those guys who finds an ant in your sink and sues the state blaming them for negligence. This sounds OVERBLOWN out of proportion. I'm not assuming anything my dear dim man.. As I said I KNOW HIM... he is not cruel like that... His reference was getting satisfaction from the waitress, which um well YOU DIDN'T DO and then he said if that didn't work he'd take it further.. I think he missed your not stopping until you get her fired.... If only you could contemplate as much as you instigate...
