Neither the dollar nor peso have closer to collapse than they have recently. The U.S. borders are so porous, you could drive a tank through the holes. NAFTA has severely screwed up life for the average American and Mexican. There seems to be a lot of fodder for the those who believe the North American Union and Amero conspiracy theories. So are we heading towards a North American Union? What do you think?

Yes, and I believe that bill clinton pressed for something on this...I could be wrong, but I think every president in the last 20 years has sponsored or encouraged this mindset.

Why do we need borders? We might, if someone was stealing, say, our water, or our land, or something else.

But, I do not see that happening. So, then what our borders protect, or should protect?

When we rant that borders are wide open, what do we mean? Wide open for what?

Let us think of the people coming over illegally. What is it? Are they bringing in something or taking something away?

People coming into the country illegally are generally a drain on the economy. They don't pay taxes at local, state or federal level, in some state they are even participate in welfare programs. In the case of illegal Mexican immigrants, they send most of the money they earn here back to Mexico. I have no problems with legal immigration. With our economy structured the way it is and the tax system structured as it is though illegal immigration is not healthy for out economy.
I do believe that a case could be made for opening up the borders and allowing nearly unrestricted immigration if it is done properly.

Be very cautious. Having a strong opinion on Illegal Immigration could wind you up on a DHS Terrorist list.

Illegal Immigration as a Flashpoint

During the past five years, various right-wing extremists, including militias and white supremacists, have adopted the immigration issue as a call to action, rallying point, and recruiting tool, the DHS report says.

“Debates over appropriate immigration levels and enforcement policy generally fall within the realm of protected political speech under the First Amendment, but in some cases, anti-immigration or strident pro-enforcement fervor has been directed against specific groups and has the potential to turn violent,” the report says.

The DHS assessment is that right-wing extremist groups’ frustration over a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence. If that occurred, it probably would be isolated, small-scale, and directed at specific immigration-related targets.

Furthermore, prominent civil rights organizations have observed an increase in anti-Hispanic crimes during the past five years, the report says.

# In April 2007, six militia members were arrested for various weapons and explosives violations. Open source reporting alleged that those arrested had discussed and conducted surveillance for a machine gun attack on Hispanics.

# A militia member in Wyoming was arrested in February 2007 after communicating his plans to travel to the Mexican border to kill immigrants crossing into the United States.

In the end what will happen? Nothing

Illegal Immigration continues

2 million of them swarming in the country each year (if not more) to work in the huge meat packing factories, chemical factories, scooping **** of the grounds, painting the houses, doing the construction work, cleaning the high rise building windows, driving the taxi cabs, selling drugs to the American's that so desire it, and working all other jobs that American's are too darn lazy to do.

Don't blame the Mexicans or the illegals that enter this country.

Blame yourself for just whining about it and not doing anything about it.

Blame the corporations that hire them for 70 dollars a day pulling guts out of cows and pigs.

Blame the government for telling you they will do something about it on the news channels, but secretly accept lobbyist money from the corporations to keep the illegals working in their factories.

Good luck on fixing your country........ or not. drinker

Homeland Security on guard for 'right-wing extremists'
Returning U.S. military veterans singled out as particular threats

WASHINGTON – A newly unclassified Department of Homeland Security report warns against the possibility of violence by unnamed "right-wing extremists" concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion and the loss of U.S. sovereignty and singles out returning war veterans as particular threats.

I don't know about whining. For a few years, I've been calling people to act by calling, emailing, faxing the Reps and Congress to untie the hands of DHS and let them do their jobs. I've called people to join organizations like FAIRUS and Numbersusa.
Let me ask you. Are you just temporary or do you intend on staying? I don't know what type of work you do, if any but, I imagine you could be replaced.
What have you done?

and as you try to do something have you seen results that satisfy you? Would you consider the immigration problem resolved? As far as I see most Americans are not satisfied with the immigration problem, yet most don't want to do the work these immigrants do either to keep the streets and offices clean, etc. etc.

I own land here and two buildings that each provide 4 rental units.

I also have a pension sent to me by my country for the service I have done in my career.

and yes I am only here temporary. I will be going back to my country in 2011.

Since NAFTA was implemented, the Mexican Gov. sent notice that jobs were available. The border towns who have American owned Factories have been flooded with Immigrants from farther South. They get there and find the jobs are all filled. They are so full, in fact, the Factories can be selective. They fire anyone over 40, no tattoos, no facial hair and anything above a traffic citation will keep them from employment.
All the groups I get updates from have all been trying to get enforcement reinstated by using the legal system.

Here is a list of Members of Congress who we need to set free.

I must add that you are aware that Democrat's would disagree with your list.

So in the end what will be resolved?

It is like two brothers fighting all the time, but nothing is being done at the end of the day.

What will the people do is the question?

As you see writing to your Congressman isn't doing much for the people.

Any other solutions you may have?

Pretty much looks like most of the House of Represenatives and Senators are guilty as chargedlaugh

What will the people do is the question?

As you see writing to your Congressman isn't doing much for the people.

Any other solutions you may have?

I figure c+ is like straddling the fence. They could swing the way of the money.
Want folks in there who really do have this countries best interest to heart.

Some say a smaller government should be more accurate. Others say a bigger government would help this nation.

Others mention there should be a control panel that observes the Congress and its actions.

Some say lobbyists in DC shouldn't be practiced at all, no matter what.

Some believe that the people need to push the government by force, by actually making huge rallies, and overriding the Congress.

Some believe this is a Republic

others believe it should be a Free Democracy

In the end America has survived many turbulent times.

I believe that the people of the world really want to see America rebound back to its feet again.

Yet the question is what is really going on behind those walls that we the people don't see much off.
