Check your thermostat, It will have a switch for heat and a/c and off. Also check on the other side of the thermostat is it on fan or auto. It should be on auto. If none of this works go to your breaker panel and turn off the breaker to your furnace. Wait ten seconds and then turn it back on, it should re-set your furnace.
Good Luck

Sounds like the thermostat is faulty. If it's a wall control (meaning that the control is mounted on the wall), you might try taking the cover off and checking the contact points to make sure they're disconnecting as you move the switch. If it's an older style, it probably has a mercury switch and you should see the contacts disengaging.
Or, like the other poster already noted, you could turn it off at the power panel breaker.

As has already been mentioned, it sounds like your thermostat is broken. They're fairly simple to replace--just connecting some wires up according to a diagram. If you have a digital camera, snap a pic of the wires that are connected to your current thermostat before you disconnect them so you can reconnect them if you find out it's not the thermostat.

In Aug, my AC suddenly became heat. My house was getting hotter and hotter no matter how low I turned the AC. After replacing the thermostat, my house went from 95 degrees to 72 degrees in a couple of hours. Boy was I relieved! It was an easy, cheap fix. I hope yours is too.

Thank you all. I was really drunk when I posted this, and was freaking out, but when wcxidave mentioned the auto thing, I checked it out, turns out when I was drunk last night, I tried to turn the heat on, and flipped two switches instead of one. lol. I'm so slow, lol. Thank you all.
