Topic: Parents sue school district over religious song | |

my point of that story was that I would rather see something done about it before resorting to extremes. if they did nothing then i would press charges against the girl. but the fear of possibly being sued (which i never even hinted to) was enough for them to do something

since no one can read the teachers mind...we don't know if it was some evil plan or an OOPS on her part. it was dealt with Why would you suggest the word evil? I must have missed a post that said she was evil. I wouldn't have said that. Any teacher in this day and age that would not know it's a touchy subject is either brain dead or absent minded, either way not a teacher I would want teaching my kids. And how many times must it be mentioned that it was dealt with. The only thing dealt with is that they stopped doing it before the lawsuit was filed, the issue remains until they all don't do it in the first place. These lawsuits will not stop until it's understood. I missed a few post recently so if someone already said the same thing I apologize for the repeat. |

Though the evil part didn't seem to have ever come up. And while you did say several times she may not have realized it, my point was that I would not want a teacher so obviously unaware teaching my kids. |

and that is your opinion and I have mine. I came up with the evil part due to one of the posters. I brought it up, me, myself and I. i was being sarcastic

An eighth-grader was suspended from riding the school bus for three days after being accused of passing gas. The bus driver wrote on a misbehavior form that a 15-year-old teen passing gas on the bus Monday to make the other children laugh, creating a stench so bad that it was difficult to breathe. The bus driver handed the teen the suspension form the next day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a bus driver responsible for multiple lives, I'd say this child got off easy. If I was the bus driver, and you can clearly be glad I am not, stinking up the bus and disrupting other students by making the others get loud and boisterous while I am trying to not only watch them but the road... hmmm yupper got off easy to me. If that makes me extreme, so be it. When I rode a bus to school we rarely had these disturbances it was understood that the driver had a job to do to protect all of us and our behavior would be expected. Again this story lacks detail, like how many times this same child was asked to behave etc. But if it was more than once I would have given him at least that much time out. Kids today rarely take just one time to stop their behavior according to bus drivers. I also expect the bus driver should show some restraint in dealing with children however if anyone has ever driven a bus with unruly kids they know how much patience one must have. Personally I couldn't do it on a daily basis if I had to deal with children never taught simple manners in certain situations. As for the kid arrested for it in class, well that is extreme, though again lack of detail about the particular student, so can't same much more. |
Boo - no disrespect but yes that I do find that extreme.
Who in their right mind knows whether the gas they pass will smell like a wet dog, roses, or have no scent. How did he (the suspended student) make the others get loud and boisterous (he didn't). But as you did bring out, I think there is a lot not included. Was this, the child's daily behavior? Had he been previously reprimanded? I remember being young, the one that smells it dealt it |
Hell I would have payed HER just to get out of there.. I of course didn't act like I noticed it, but I gotta tell ya, for the next 20 minutes my mind could not register what I was doing. Thankfully I was NOT driving at the time... If I was a praying person I would have prayed for a severely plugged up nose. I don't know about you but I am a fairly layed back person, but a kid that has to be told more than once to behave would not be something I would dismiss easily. So I guess in that sense I am extreme, I do expect kids to understand the gravity of misbehaving in a bus when the driver has much to keep in mind while driving in city and in rural areas. Now if the incident happened on the play ground where the kids were safe, I would have dismissed it as typical of kids being goofy, and have been grateful it was in open air.. LOL What I meant by loud and boisterous, I have heard kids in class and in playgrounds and in buses laughing and carrying on, it is loud to me and in a bus it's amplified. Of course I must admit that I think parents have learned to tune out. I was shopping the other day and a lady's kid was screaming and begging for something on the shelf, the parent didn't even register that the kid was screaming.. I envisioned walking by her and giving her a quick slap to the back of the head to get her to pay attention to her kid.. I didn't of course, but I thought it. Ok I was PMS too. lmao |
Still find a natural thing such as passing gas a lame excuse to suspend someone, that's like being suspended for sneezing, coughing, hiccupping (jmo) Anytime there is a group of kids, they are sure to be talking, loud talking, laughing, joking, etc. |
Ack it could have been much worse.. LOLOL Anyway silent but not deadly ones wouldn't have been a problem, but I also remember my brothers and father having farting contests at the table when I was a kid. Annoyed the hell out of me, so in this case I might have just had a flash back.. grin! It wouldn't have been the passing of gas for me but having to repermand one student in particular more than onece. He didn't admit it but I am pretty sure that the kids made it pretty clear who did it. Kids aren't that good at hiding the obvious.. Anyway bottom line, your right not enough detail, but it was amusing, needed that while I am doing some boring work of my own. |
