We have all been in relations at one time or another. And for the most
part they did not work out, for some reason or another. What are the little things that matter in relationship? What is the key to a healthy relationship? Is there one relationship you had that you think you could of done things differently? |

Ive only had one relationship. Lasted 5 years. If i could have done
anything different, it would have been to not to let him walk all over me. It was definatly a learning experience. |

I think communication, trust, honesty and COMPROMISE is important.
Sadly my relationship is lacking in a few of those areas but I'm working on it. |

Honesty
Attraction Passion Sincerity Caring for one another Listening, even when you think the other's wrong. All the little things matter in a relationship. I'd rather get a homemade card, then flowers or chocolates.......Or a little love note on the mirror in the morning, when I wake up and my honey's gone. Things like that are always the most special. I don't think I could've done anything to avoid a breakup in my last relationship. It was on his end, not mine. He fell out of love with me, if he was even in love in the first place. This is a good post, Whisper!! |

Whisp -- after 86 bad ones and 1 good one, I think I have some ideas
here: Little things: The ability to say whatever is on your mind, or the ability to say nothing if it's not needed at the moment -- a shared interest, and a non-shared interest -- a hug, a quick squeeze, a little note, a drawing of a heart -- there are ways to say a lot without taking an hour to do so -- The key: I always go back to communication. Two people who truly understand each other will always do better than two people who don't. Two people who are truly willing to listen, and to speak what's on their minds, knowing the other will be receptive. Done things differently? -- Honestly, most of them were so pointless that I wish I had never bothered! (Including the marriage, pfffffffffffffttttttttttt.) There are a handful where I really DO wish I had done some things differently. There were a few that might have worked out much more positively "if only I had known then what I know now." (Cliche alert.) The one good one I lost due to other people's interference, and I SHOULD have seen that one coming. If I had, I'd probably still be with her today, because I had NO intentions of ever letting that one go! Live and learn. Hopefully. |
