I don't think the prospect of wearing a thong would scare a 22 year-old dude away... especially if YOU'RE the one asking him to wear it! laugh

Other than experiencing a bit of a frustrating little mishap with an electric guitar I was refurbishing, the day's gone down relatively all right.

I just hope you didn't get batted around too badly at work. flowers

Naw all is good.. Thankfully.. Some hiccups here and there but nothing I can't handle if I set my mind to it...

Guitar mishap? yikes...

Yeah. It was a slight mishap- I was polishing these things on the guitar called "frets" (you press down on them to make the notes on a guitar- they'll get tarnished sometimes which isn't good), and while I was finishing up when I noticed something strange on the guitar's neck...

When I turned it over, I found that some pieces of the paint had come off. MAN was I ticked. laugh

So I drove back home to Google a search on the particular brand of guitar, and found that it's a known issue with them- they use a clearcoat that's kinda incompatible with the paint used on their guitars. As a result, some guitars will experience "lifting", where the paint and clearcoat will lift from the guitar itself.

I've done this exact type of operation at least a thousand guitars over the years, and this is honestly the first time this has happened to me, needless to say. laugh

OH well... ya can't save 'em all, Hasselhoff. laugh

So no hiccups, eh? Hope there wasn't any burpin' involved, either... laugh

Ahhhhhhhhhh I had that happen when I was painting the stove fan.. I did all they said and the new paint ate away at the old.. Finally I just stripped and repainted the whole thing...

Unfortunately for me, I can't do that because it'll seriously de-value the instrument (even more so than I already have, that is laugh), so I'm gonna leave it alone for time being and see if there's a way to sorta do a patch job on it. Since guitar painting isn't my thing, I'm gonna have to talk to some friends of mine to see what THEY think should go on.

And just WHAT were you doing painting a stove fan, anyway? laugh

the mensa member that I am, i was cleaning the house top to bottom before I moved out and sprayed oven cleaner on the stove fan up above... the oven cleaner ate the paint so I had to fix it... Believe me that house taught me to said and paint/stain/mix colors of stain for wood doors, paint stove hoods, repair carpet, etc. laugh
