Topic: Older men wanting a younger woman | |
---|---|
As a younger woman who at one point thought about dating an older man, I have been pondering this subject for a while. Grant it, I know there are advantaged to dating older men, one of them being experience. However, the only older men that seem interested in seeing me are the ones that are, shall we say, not very knowledgeable about how to get a younger woman and expect me to fall into their laps if they offer me money. I know I am not the most attractive woman on the street, but I do have standards. I decided to post this little bit of advice for some of you men out there that want a younger woman and have no idea what to do about it.
First of all, looks are in fact a big thing to younger women. We would not mind having someone who is 20 to 30 years older than we are if they look amazing for his age. If a man has a beer gut, bad hair, and horrid looking teeth, we are not going to want to go out with you on the town. Bad hair does not mean bald or balding, just horrid looking. Secondly, try to get into some of the recent culture. There is nothing that kills a date more than not having anything in common to talk about. Do not think about how you might get laid but actually showing her a good time and building a relationship so you will not mind having a female around more than the time it takes you to have sex and want to throw her out. Rather, mention a recent movie you saw a preview for you might like or see if you can get a piece of news she might know and want to talk about. If you can keep up with the girl in conversation and comment on some of the movies and activities that she like to do, you might end up with a second date. Third, money is not everything. Yes, we would love to have the man that has the ability to take us out on the town, buy us pretty things, and support us in a way we like instead of just surviving. However, there is a way you can over-do it. Taking us out to the most expensive place in town and talking about your 5 villas is not the best way to make friends. And the last bit of advice I leave with you, don’t talk or think about just yourself. Ask her what her interests are, what she wants to do in her life, what she might like to do if she ever had the chance to go on a trip. You would be surprised how many women would go with someone on a second date if they had the chance to talk about what she wanted. Hope this helps some. |

As they say "out of the mouths of babes". I had to read this 3 times to try and decide if it was a new slant on a public personnel ad or heartfelt advise. I believe it is some of both. And while it does contain some good advise I have to take issue with how across the board you are with that word most. While age shouldn't make a difference a 20 - 30 year spread does make a difference to anyone. That goes past even being from different generations. If you think that much age difference is not going to effect your relationship think again. Even if you share like interests, and with that much difference I find it, while not impossible, hard to believe you have similar physical interests. I know there are exceptions to every rule. I myself spend half my time being that exception...but come on~

Well, US OLD BROADS HAVE THE SAME EXPECTATIONS, YOU KNOW!!!! "Third, money is not everything. THAT'S WHY YOU SHOULD MAKE YOUR OWN MONEY AND GET YOUR OWN VILLAS!!! "Do not think about how you might get laid but actually showing her a good time and building a relationship so you will not mind having a female around more than the time it takes you to have sex and want to throw her out." THESE TYPES COME IN BOTH GENDERS AND IN ALL AGES. Personally, I'm just in all of this for the sex with the young men, okay??? |

I am just sick of turning on Bravo and hearing the snippet of Millionare Matchmaker that my friends want to watch and hear how older men will only date younger women. And having sex with a younger man is not all that bad I know. Nothing like an 18 year old that can go for hours to cheer someone up. |

I watch that show, too, and they usually PICK the ones who are into using people like cattle and chattel JUST because it is so entertaining. Wholesome people don't operate by any of these standards!!! It's TV!!! Thank GOD not all older men are like that in real life, and we can only pray that people are realistic in their expectations in real life. I wasn't taking it as you knocking older gals, either. It was just funny and I was poking at the generalization thread, in general.

I didn't take it as you knocking anyone. I just thought you made some rather sweeping generalizations.
And I don't want to be on Springer dang it I prefer Oprah *walks away singing older women make beautiful lovers, older women they understand* |

What Ive seen with the older man/younger woman is that 9 times out of 10 that man cannot get a woman his own age to save his life.
He likes to power trip and usually can find that in a young girl. |

:O This topic should be moved to the Jerry Springer heading. |

How ironic......
yesterday as I am leaving the grocery store with my salad, catfish and wine I hear "HEY BEAUTIFUL!" I see some lil knockout and just glanced behind me to see who she was talking to....nope, she walked right up and proceeded to hit on me and give me her #. I told her flat out "Sorry honey, you are too young" (she looked like she MIGHT be 20) She laughed "No I ain't!" It was very complimentary. The point is..there are plenty of younger ladies who prefer much older men. |

I think this thread is hysterical. Here's why.
The well-meaning OP has had to define and illustrate for the 'older man' all the things that will push her buttons. I am not even commenting on what those are as much as the fact she had to MENTION them & EXPLAIN them. Most people on M2 (those who've been around any amount of time) know I date younger guys. Have for years. Some of what she mentions about looks with older guys may indeed add to that interest on my part to date younger, waaaaay younger. But what I think most interesting and funny as hell .. I've never seen a younger guy, who likes dating older women, feel the need to explain what she should do to be more inviting or interesting on his part. HELL WE ALREADY HAVE IT 'GOIN ON' .. He's just wanting to get in on the rewards. We don't need explanations of how to be more attractive to younger guys, and we have never lacked at being interesting to them. Actually the exact opposite is true. LMFAO ..................... and people ask me WHY I date younger guys ............. if this doesn't help explain nothing will |

I'm 24 years old and I'd date a 18 year old.
Look at me, I'm an old man looking for a younger woman! Just kidding, they're all good at any age. |

Whatever the reasoning behind the post, snide remarks are uncalled for. She should have the right to post her opinion without derision.
