The national debt has to take a backseat right now because of the impending depression. If we do not stimulate the economy we are doomed to repeat the depression of the 30-40s. We can work on bringing down after the immediate emergency is curtailed. It has to be this way regardless to what the nay sayers say.

Why if we owe so much do we keep giving to others.. that's the first thing they should stop completely. We borrow from other countries but turn around and give to other countries. Kind of like robbing Peter to pay Paul don't ya think?

dragoness, the national debt is the reason for this impending depression. these two can't be seperated. if we got rid of the federal reserve, we wouldn't have the national debt. the national debt is owed to the federal reserve and they control our economy, this is not debated against by any cpa that understands the actual inner workings of our monetary system.

it takes a whole new stage in your mind when you realize that the same people who own our federal reserve, owns the central banks around the world. the countries don't own these banks, a certain group does. court cases have proved time and time again that the federal reserve is not part of the government, therefor, the plaintiffs could not collect any monies based on the fact that they sued under a federal government remuniation type of act. if they would have sued them as corporate - for profit businesses, they would have won and collected the damages.

the question to be asking is this, why would they lead the people to believe that they belong to the particular country and we are borrowing from that particular country? especially when we are effectively borrowing from the same people that we would have if we borrowed it from the federal reserve.

It does look that way. However, this is simply "sharing the bounty" of counterfeiting.

Those who:

-understand what we are doing
-big enough to be desired as allies in politics
-small enough so that they can't use it themselves

receive these payments, supposedly for humanitarian purposes or "loans" that they never pay back, etc.

Think of it as a price for having our dollar as a world reserve currency.
