Here's the speech that Putin gave at the World Economic Forum. Most of what is quoted in the OP is not in here. I suspect that whomever originally wrote it was editorializing and, lets say 'paraphrasing' a bit.

That being said, Putin did have some interesting things to say about the economic crisis, both globally and in the U.S. It's rare to see a Russian leader call out their own 'mistakes'. And I'm very surprised to see anything like that from Putin, who I perceive to be an old school thug.

Tngx, thanks. Good job at finding that.

Besides, Obama was in China, using Hillary's lips, kissing Chinese a$$. They worked on assuring China, the check's in the mail.

there is something that people need to know, that is what putin knows and what he is talking about. we don't owe to china or any other country. we owe to the central banks that are located in those countries. no country owns it's own central banks. each of the central banks are all privately owned, for profit corporations. owned indirectly by a small group of individuals. putin is suggesting that we cut our financial ties to this group and wipe our debt book clean of these illegal debts that have been encumbered upon us by this small group of people. john f kennedy has already given us a tool that we can use if only we will pick it back up again and push onwards with it. people are afraid to pick it up because it got john killed. they are afraid it will get them killed too. it is called executive order 11110 which abolished the federal reserve. it has never been undone and is still in effect. no one has the guts to enforce it though.

MOSCOW (SR) - Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has warned the Obama administration against adopting further socialism, saying Russian history clearly proves it is a recipe for failure.

“Any fourth grade history student knows socialism has failed in every country, at every time in history,” said Putin. “President Obama and his fellow Democrats are either idiots or deliberately trying to destroy their own economy.”

Economists say Putin’s comments serve to illustrate how worldwide markets have made even economic adversaries dependent on each other’s financial stability.

An Obama spokesman dismissed Putin’s claim, saying, “We’re going to do socialism better.”

7.62mm justice? Damn site wouldn't let go of my browser. A site with that name isn't going to hole my attention long anyway. Besides Putin is an arrogant big mouth who can't let go of power himself, why would we take his word for anything.

Who is the spokesman by the way, this site doesn't seem to want to say...

read the pdf file that tngx posted, it has the actual words to it. apparently the article i found is just giving a gist of what putin said. but putin is a very smart man, please don't be prejudice against him boo. you know all too well about prejudism. i would hope that you wouldn't really want to be responsible for prejudism yourself.

I was about to do just that. I don't trust Putin period, has nothing to do with prejudice at all. I don't like what he is about. Try not to post sites with just the gist will ya, it wastes my time, and with dialup that is truely a waste.

sorry, i didn't know it was just a gist. but putin is a great man i've studied him for about a year now. he is against the bankers and the bankers are trying to keep us thinking he is a bad guy so we don't listen to him making sense. prejudise is hating or disliking someone without having all of the facts about them. most people would rather dislike him because our government tells us to.

I'd like to see that from a real news source please, like Reuters or the BBC. And no, Fox does not count.

A case of shooting the messenger (Putin) for dislike of the message?

Might be so bold as to suggest that Putin (aside from having more overall experience) has more knowledge/experience of/with communism and socialism than the current US president is why we should perhaps heed his words? The "dissing"... err... education for Obama continues. (Singing the song "Where is the Love?" as I type).

Kudos think2deep... a job well done! The enemy of my enemy (philosophically speaking)is my friend... very effective. Enjoy your victory but would encourage you not to overplay your hand by diluting your strongest point though. Congratulations again!

excerpts i find in the pdf file posted by tnx

"This means we must assess the real situation and write off all hopeless debts and “bad” assets. True, this will be an extremely painful and unpleasant process. Far from everyone can accept such measures, fearing for their capitalisation, bonuses or reputation. However, we would “conserve” and prolong the crisis, unless we clean up our balance sheets. I believe financial authorities must work out the required mechanism for writing off debts that corresponds to today’s needs"

"Second. Apart from cleaning up our balance sheets, it is high time we got rid of virtual money"

he wants to get rid of the crap money from these central banks ha ha .

Don't start with me Beeorganic, I do bite. tongue2 The gist doesn't cut it for me. I read the whole pdf thing, and while I don't particularly have a problem with anything he said, that doesn't mean that I trust him either. Hell I barely trust my own government. Propaganda is everywhere on both sides, hell on all sides.

I dare say that none of you know the absolute truth about what's going on right now either.

Even Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's speeches were almost logical and almost sane when he first spoke publically, but then he said something completely different to his own people, then came back here and made an ass of himself.

Do I think Putin is a smart man, you bet, is he trustworthy, I don't see it, but then if you do that is your perogative.

Do I think Obama knows what socialism is, I can't answer that, but I do hope that who ever working with him doesn't take us into anything that is ultimately going to turn use into a socialist country completely. That is acknowledging that we do have some parts of our system that are socialist. Not sure I said that right...
