YOU GOT IT!!! Absolutely correct here. This is going to be a total horrible disaster. You will lose your bestfriend, and in the end, you likely WILL NOT get the woman, either.
Tell her you were inappropriate in sharing your feelings about her with her, that you apologize for it, that you REFUSE to act on your feelings unless and until she and her guy are no longer together. And, even then, you should talk seriously with your best friend if it came to this, and you need to get okay with losing him as a best friend if he won't deal with this.
