I am always receiving these kind of things because the religious around me have decided to "save" me from myself...lol I understand the thought process of escaping, of course, the reason most people end up being addicted to drugs or alchohol is this form of escapism. How can this be a healthy thought or action process for the religious in this world? I personally utilize the "done as much as I can so I will now set it down for a bit and let the pieces fall" philosophy. What happened to the bible philosophy of "god only does for those who do for themselves?" |

Its the people that assume that "God" should answer their prayers and when they dont get their way they deny him Well according to Mark in the Bible Jesus said, "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." So clearly Jesus believed that God is a genie. Those who believe that Mark tells the truth, and also believe that Jesus tells the truth, must also believe that God is a genie. Of course, that's getting to be a lengthy chain already and we know how easily rumors get twisted around when they are handed down through the grapevine. So it's anyone's guess who might have been telling the truth, or who might have been misunderstood, or whatever. We do know that there had to have been at least a half a century between the time when Jesus supposedly said these words and Mark actually wrote them down. I don't know about you, but after 50 years I tend to be a bit vague about precisely what other people might have said exactly.  Especially if I'm claiming to quote an entire ministry verbatim!  I don't know about Mark, but I know I couldn't get all that perfectly verbatim after 50 years. Sounds pretty shaky to me. |

God may not be able to answer anyones prayers. He got kicked off this planet.I often wonder where the notion of God being able to grant wishes came from. God may not be able to intervene in this world even if he wanted to.

So if you get what you want it is god's will that you have it, but if don't then that is god's will also? No wonder people say it is all a matter of faith. You could never prove it. How do you ever really know what god's will is? Is it that whatever happens in life is god's will? Does anything happen outside of god's will?
