Topic: What makes you back away from profiles? | |
---|---|
We've had many threads about what people look for in another person. But, when looking through profiles, what makes you stop reading and move onto the next one?

When it indicates the person is married.
Has no info or says "I'll fill this in later". Or the writing is not coherent enough to make heads nor tails of it. |
|

Mention of gambling as an activity.
Vague, generic self descriptions. Oh, if they say, "I have two daughters and they are my world. If you can't handle that, move along". And many more..... |
|
|
|
Nothing, I don't browse profiles randomly. Only those that get my interest in the forums get perved.

Yep...I agree with the not enough info thing....shows a lack of intelligence.
The opposite end is....toooooo danged long with obviously self-pitying inflections. Let's you know right off the bat that it will be a drama fest. |

ANY mention of "the beach".

"I don't know what to write here."
"Anything you want to know, you'll have to ask." "I'm laid back and easy going." "I love my friends and family." "I'm a fun person who likes to have fun." "I'll fill this out later." "A friend told me about this site but I'm not going to write anything until I see if it's worth it." "I'm a single mother of two kids, and they are my world." "No game players." Cliches in general. Empty profiles. Any profile that reads exactly the same as the 14,993 before it (which, sadly, accounts for about 97% of them). Bad writing -- misspellings, bad grammar, improper use of apostrophes, etc. People who claim to have a great "sence of humor" or are tired of "dealing with loosers." Pics with more than one person, and they never tell you which one the profile belongs to. |

Let's you know right off the bat that it will be a drama fest. Very true! There are some that drone on for forever! Although, mine is a little bit longer than most and a hell of a lot shorter than others, I tried to paint a brief picture of who I am. I figure if someone doesn't want to take a second and read it to find out more about me, that's fine. Not worth my time to worry about it. |

We've had many threads about what people look for in another person. But, when looking through profiles, what makes you stop reading and move onto the next one? i check: pic's, age, body type, kids, then content. and if war and peace is a shorter read then i'm movin on. and i'm tired of headlines that read "looking for mr. right", "looking for my prince charming", "looking for the one"....... aren't most of us looking for that. |

They mention being a nice guy.
They're overly religious. "I'm laid back." "Hit me up with any questions." Especially when they're profile is blank other than that. Those who have to mention they're not into drama. They're usually the ones who are full of drama. Pictures giving the finger or sticking out their tongue. |

You know I'm actually turned off by people that made reference to their job status in their profile name...like Dr So and So or Mr. Movie Director. And then people complain about only having gold diggers interested in them. HELLO, Wake up!

I like long walks on the beach, want a person who can dress up and go out or dress down and cuddle up on the couch for a movie.

Not me exactly, i don't really set up a expectation to find a long time spouse on a singles site , but you know, different people have different expectations. |
