Just curious has anyone used this program and if so does it do a good job?

CCleaner 2.16.830

I'm looking for programs that will get rid of files that are not needed and I don't have to make any choices on what to delete. That way I want get rid of something that is needed.

Just trying to find ways to make my computer run faster and would love to hear what programs actually the job better and free if possible but willing to pay for what ever is really needed.

If anyone has any suggestions on what programs one should download in order to keep a computer running in tip top shape would love to hear.

Also please let me know if certain ones do not interact with another one.

I never used CC Cleaner so cannot help you on it but I use a similar program called "Zappit" that cleans Temp files, Internet cache and history and depending what programs you have installed cleans a lot of other files.

Also I use a programs called "RegSeeker" this program helps to clean Windows registry of useless entry, been using it for years and never had any problem.

Also if you want use Revos Uninstaller to uninstal your programs instead of the Add/Remove program that comes with windows, it does a better job of uninstalling everything not leaving useless files and registry entries.

All those programs are freewares so no cost to you.

P.S. never forget to defrag often, very important.

CCleaner will get rid of stuff like internet cache files and junk files that clog up your computer. It'll also trim down on bad registry entries and errors, too. It's also got an uninstall feature, but you'll have to dig deeper in the program to find it.

Revo Uninstaller is a full-on uninstaller that will not only uninstall an offending program, but will also go about searching for registry entries and un-deleted folders and files pertaining to the program.

Ccleaner is ok, safe to use at pre-set, deliets easy if uninstaled, cleans up good leaving no left over files, I use it once a week. And also go in advance and chech "Old PreFetch data", then run it about once every three months, other than that I pretty much leave it the way it was downloaded. CleanUp and ATF Cleaner are good one's also. Not sure if this is what you'll really looking for, but will put hear as well. "Unlocker" will deliet files you can't deliet.

Their's a couple of programs out their that deal with finding files that are empty and left over from unistalled programs and files that are not used within your computer also providing some benifet to finding files that were left behind from Spyware you may of downloaded or fileshares, that your program didn't pick up on, just taking space on your harddrive, but use caution when using them.I will not list these, you can goggle if interested.

The main advantage of CCleaner, I think, is that it does such an awesome job for a program that does not require any decision making from a user that is not a specialist.
