Krokus, Diamond Head, Merciful Fate, annihilator, Venom, D.R.I. and As you said, many. many more! Oh yeah brother--Death Angel- a room with a view... I totally forgot D.R.I... I had one Annihilator album,, I never got into Krokus to much but I did like a few of their songs,,, Never heard Diamond head- I will have to check them out on youtube......I remember when they try to ban Venom in our area of York, Pa. I went and bought a Samhein album at the same time I was trying to buy Venum... (Had to throw in Danzig and Misfits from that mention...) King Diamond covers Merciful fate which kicked ass back in the day... I remember the first time hearing him and how I thought it was more then one person..He would write these amazingly dark opera stories.. I still have all of his albums in Merciful fate and King diamond up to Spiders lullaby... I seen him in Baltimore back in the day.. It was really cool dude,,, for sure!! |

They're not really metal but lately I've been listening to Thin Lizzy a lot. Back in the day they qualified as "heavy metal", Steppenwolf and Deep Purple too. I was listening to Casey Kasem's Top 40 Countdown on XM 80's on 8 a couple years ago, and he had a letter from a listener asking him when heavy metal actually got it's start, and he said it was a question of debate but Casey Kasem decided on "Hush" by Deep Purple. I would argue the honor would go to Black Sabbath's Iron Man even though it was released two years after Deep Purple's cover of a Joe South song "Hush". |

Chkme, Have you heard Pissing Razors? If not, chkum out. Their sound is like early Pantera and singing I would say like Machine Head. They jam X's 10
