Topic: One nation under........ | |

Pinellas County: Man has a sign in his yard stating "One Nation Under Obama", and he has caused quite a stink.
I find this funny, we are one nation under our president, so the statement is factual. Where the opposition insists that it has to say "One Nation Under God", which technically is fictional. We are not all religious. What do you think? |

like the ppl that post a comment just to insult someone?
I agree with respect that not all of us are religious so it should say something that could accomodate both sides. |

How about just, "ONE NATION, PERIOD."
It would mean everybody. |

How about The States, in pact of agreement to protect the nation, and nobody's business to try and incorporate federalist/nationalist views on any state, and the State's right to secede at their will. The States ought not be subject to the Federal Government, else it becomes anything other than a pact of agreement by federalist power enforcing its decrees. Just a thought.

"One Nation Under God" means not God in the bible. It means that only God can force this nation to anything, but no man ever should hold that power. It is and was only a polite way of saying "Not under man". |

not that it matters but you didn't mention that the sign was posted in front of a porn shop and the big stink is the city ordinance that allows a business to only post one sign

Protesters' signs supporting God clashed with business signs advertising naughty novelties, gay cards and lingerie at 50 percent off as passing drivers slowed and blew their horns at the 14 Christians demonstrating their faith Thursday in front of Rockin Cards and Gifts.
-St Petersburg Times 14 people isnt all that big a deal |

And even if there were everything on this planet is still "under man". Man controls all aspects of everything on this planet at some level or another except mother nature. |

Oh, but everything on this planet is "under man" because there is no god for it to be "under". And even if there were everything on this planet is still "under man". Man controls all aspects of everything on this planet at some level or another except mother nature. Yes, yes, you got it! There is no god, or at least he isn't very interested in planning our economy and taking from some to give to others. This is exactly the meaning. It is the same as to say "One nation under nobody". Now, you're right, man controls everything. But one thing man should never have control over is another man. The purpose for the existence of the original American government "was" to insure that no man controls another. This means anything forceful, against one's will. Now, socialists would say that plenty of men control other men, and cite an employment, for a short instance. But in employment, nobody controls nobody forcefully. One is free not to be employed by a particular corporation or man, or even not to be employed at all. You work, even at the job that sucks, purely out of your free will. Just because you wouldn't be able to provide for yourself if not employed, isn't a sign of being forced into employment. Now, a king, for example, can force anyone into employment, without any regard for that man's needs or desires. This, is forceful. A socialist government will indeed force into employment, because as soon as it is converted itself into full socialism, all production stops, and someone must work to create the product. In Soviet Union, for instance, it was illegal to not be employed. That is forceful. |

the truth is that this is one nation under israel. Or you could call us the united states of israel. Really? yeah, At this point, a furious Ariel Sharon reportedly turned toward Peres, saying "every time we do something you tell me Americans will do this and will do that. I want to tell you something very clear, don't worry about American pressure on Israel, we, the Jewish people control America, and the Americans know it." The radio said Peres and other cabinet ministers warned Sharon against saying what he said in public because "it would cause us a public relations disaster." |

"Another Israeli spokeswoman, Tzipora Menache, stated that she was not worried about negative ramifications the Israeli onslaught on Gaza might have on the way the Obama administration would view Israel. She said 'You know very well, and the stupid Americans know equally well, that we control their government, irrespective of who sits in the White House. You see, I know it and you know it that no American president can be in a position to challenge us even if we do the unthinkable. What can they (Americans) do to us? We control congress, we control the media, we control show biz, and we control everything in America. In America you can criticize God, but you can't criticize Israel."
