I am very interested in interpretations of signs and omens. I think things can be found everywhere if you know what to look for. can anyone share their knowledge of this?

I am actually fascinated with this as well... but then what kind of signs and omens are you speaking of? any in particular?

I am rather familiar with signs within nature... ie... storms, animal behaviors, and such...

I don't easily recognize other signs... yet i do tend to pick up on a feeling in the air if you will. kind of like a foreboding feeling is something bad is about to happen or is happening somewhere... also good things too... kinda like just all of a sudden getting into a great mood for no reason then something awesome happening.

I really can't explain how that works, but it's happened, it's wierd, and i have my own theories i am trying to work out on that.

and no i am far from psychic... i just am sensative to feelings. i guess. who knows

Many of them myth and legends, but just like with ghosts and UFOS, there is the pesky 1-2% that won't go away and cannot be disproved.

How does one gain the ability to distinguish between actual "signs and omens" and that which they just think are "signs and omens"?

I think, most of the reliable "signs and omens" are really based on observation and logic and paying attention closely to many things. The reason they become "signs" and "omens" because most of the population does not understand and neither care enough to pay attention, so for most people they seem supernatural.

Well what would classify as a sign? Can you think of anything that would indicate something else.

Finding 3 legged frogs is something that you'd think is weird. Back in the day, they would consider it maybe a bad Omen, something bad is gonna happen.

If you'd study this phenomena, then science explains, that frogs are very sensitive to any type of change in climate and water quality and they "temporarly" mutated very quickly . So maybe a drought or El Nino would come next year, or the water became poisoned (vulcanic or by human) , so people would tag the 3 legged frog as a sign and a bad omen, quite correctly, because something isn't right.

Now I just said something, probably many didn't even know.

Not quite, nothing surely explained yet, but one thing for sure, if you got a bad dream, your unconscious mind is acting up on something.


Here is another bad sign: Wind from the South. This is partially supersition, partially correct.

You live any place in the world, and the wind is coming from the South direction (and it's kinda warm), expect some nasty weather on your way, because the only reason you'd have wind coming from the south is, if something forcing it to twist. Most winds are sweeping across from West/East/ or Northwest/Northeast. Now, the superstition part is, that many people connect the Southern wind, not only to bad weather, but bad luck and a possible catastrophe. Don't ask me why, but I have heard this superstition from my great grandmother, who told me when the wind was blowing from the South, that prepare for something terrible will happen, not necessarily the weather, but anything.

I have heard certain colors mean something...and animals etc
