Tigers... but they really need to figure out their starting rotation and find a closer that can't blow a 3 run lead.

They picked up Brandon Lyon for just such a situation.

I think the bullpen will be much improved this season.

It will also help the pitching to know that they have one of the best defensive infields in the game.

Inge at third, Everett at short, Polanco at second and Cabrera at first.

Not a whole lot of ground balls that one of those guys isn't going to be able to get to. Especially on the left side of the infield.

Think Inge can remember how to use a bat? If not he'll be back on the bench again.

Well..if ya think back...there have only been a couple of years where he had a good average.

If he can manage to hit .250 this year, I think the Tigers will be satisfied because of what he brings defensively.

Inge has been working with the batting coach and he ( Inge ) has said that he made an adjustment in his swing that is going to help him be a better hitter. It remains to be seen if it works.

One thing I can say for certain. Inge will NOT wind up back on the bench. They don't have anyone to replace him at 3rd. Part of the reason for his terrible year in 2008, was the fact that he wasn't settled into one position. He didn't know from day to day where he was going to be playing, or even IF he was going to be playing.

With Inge at 3rd and Adam Everett at SS...the Tigers are going to have one of the best left side of the infield duos in the game.

I, however, am VERY iffy about Carlos Guillen playing Left Field. He didn't really put any effort ( diving after ground balls and stuff like that ) into it at SS. He certainly won't be diving for any balls on the outfield. He has gimpy knees and Left Field at Comerica is a very big area to cover. Hopefully, Granderson will be able to cover as much ground as he usually does and cover a few of Guillen's mistakes.

Well, now that ARod is going to be off the juice... you can take about 80 RBI away from his usual production. So yeah... I think you got that about right.

Speaking of " get with the program "....

Just today it came out that A-Roid had a known steroids dealer, who has been banned from major league clubhouses since '03 ( I believe ) staying at the same hotels and rooming with the cousin who A-Rod said brought the steroids from the Dominican Republic, as recently as '07. It's also reported that A-Rod PAID for the known steroids dealer to stay in those hotels. Might want to rethink your position about using the '07 numbers to prove your point.

Might as well face facts. Alex Rodriguez's numbers are forever tainted. So are his chances at the Hall of Fame.

I do too. The bullpen, which was their major downfall last season, is better.

If Rodney and Zumaya can be close to '06 form, the Tigers will be in good shape.
