Topic: Can distance kill love? | |

Ok, but it depends on what kind of a relationship we are talking about. Others wouldn't be comfortable in that sort of relationship. No offense. I couldn't do it, and I won't. We have been engaged for three years now .... I can't move until I sell my house and real estate just isn't moving. |

We have been engaged for three years now .... I can't move until I sell my house and real estate just isn't moving. But you see? There is the key. You have plans. That's a clear-cut and realistic plan which can work. (The real estate thing is outside of your control, hopefully things get better) What I was referring to was, people in a long distance relationship with absolutely no clear-cut plans now and not even in the future. |

Thank you guys There is no need for any sort of analytical responses , and forget about those who do the "you may/you may not" sort of thing, because that will leave you where you are right now. Here is the answer: yes It will die off after a while and it will go off faster, the longer you won't see him. Emails, chit-chats, phone calls are no substitute either. Forget about the whole thing, if you or your loved one has no plans and no way to move together within months. After all this time, we still disagree on this matter.....Captain and I are still together and still 2500 miles apart after 3 1/2 years. Ok, but it depends on what kind of a relationship we are talking about. Others wouldn't be comfortable in that sort of relationship. No offense. I couldn't do it, and I won't. So it is still a personal thing, you couldnt some of us can, although it be great if it was different. My man is 12 000 miles away, i may have wait a year unt8il he moves it may be 10. either way is fine, we will work it out, No way would I swap him, just to have someone closer, it wouldnt be the same |

An eye opener for me. On the verge of giving up in this LDR but my man constantly eases negative feelings I sometimes have about this...bracing myself for a longer battle Think about where you are...think about what you need...think about what you desire..... If your man still soothes you with a simple call.....you are headed in the right direction. Distance is never easy......ask the men who discovered new worlds. =============== I wish you're right Me a brat sometimes Thanks for the tip |

I WANT AN LDR----
So i dont have to date so much, but just have a great companionship and meet up later when my kids are little older....I am very busy with my work but lack that male companionship(okay now i am sounding desperate-lol) I have been dating a lot but it is very difficult with my work, paying a sitter all the time. I dont have the time to devote to a physical relationship right now...on a regular basis. But I do want a man, who has my back, who listens to me, and flirts with me, vice versa. |

Okay, so now we will begin promoting Simone next....Just look at that face! She's a hottie! But this cool chica wants a man that admires her for what is on the inside....someone she can feel comfortable having her kids around. A man who can make her feel secure without being suffocated. I know there's a few here on Mingle that are up to the task, so step right up!
I hope I didn't over do it. Btw, I'm glad to finally see a real pic of you, Simone. |

You did a good jub, Lynx, but I am not sure if you were inclusive in the requirements. You see, Simone has time for a man for socializing, for bantering, flirting, for crying on his shoulder, for extending emotional and moral suppoert for each other. Fine. We all know that takes time. But Simone also said that right now there is no time for physicality. This made me wonder. I think S wants to say that her boyfriend or husband had better be built like an Olympic long-distance weightlifter -and- Sexual athlete -and- border collie mix. In other words, if she has time for anything, but sex, it might be coz sex, when the chips are down and things are getting serious, is not a laughing matter, nor a fleeting pastime -- but it is passion that encompasses all living time and essence, and he had better be a Mensch or else ship out and sail away. I used to know a woman like Simone. She would go for years with no man, but when she found one that was compatible with her, then during those times my mom would say, "Andrew, my little darling, run out to the yard and see if there is a thunderstorm coming or Simone's boyfriend." |

love is love. no distance will eliminate that. nothing infact comes between love. but there is many misconceptions about what love is.

love is love. no distance will eliminate that. nothing infact comes between love. but there is many misconceptions about what love is. and miss conceptions, which can be a good thing or bad. i believe if a person is capable of holding on to 'love never dies', what you say is very true. not possible for alot of people and some times it is easier to unlove someone then to hold onto hurt and anger. |

WUX, thats not true,i didnt quote you, cuz your are long winded. But you have no idea what my physical idea of a man is. As far as dating, i explained perfectly well my situation. I am a mother, I am self employed and I also have a side job I work in the evenings. I am interested in establishing a real connection with someone... I am dating locally but it's too difficult to juggle while my hands are full and i would not be interested in introducing anyone to my children at their age. That makes devotion with a local somewhat difficult for the other party and i understand that. I dont get how this has any type of bearing on ones physical appearance???

Thank you Lynx....the point of wanting a LDR over a physical relationship has to do with wanting a male companionship, its nice to get compliments once in awhile and flattery. Plenty of people are having LDR and they are happy doing so..(this is in reference to WUX again) if i was where i wanted to be with my career and my children were older I would have no problem jumping right into a fast local relationship....but right now my career is heading upwards and the only way for that to continue is not having a man constantly around. I am tired of dating random people though and not being able to make a commitment to them. Its unfair. |

The Fire That Burns Inside It is what gives us warmth And makes tea water boil. It is what makes light, And lends us to carefree talk. It is what crackles quietly And makes the voice go hoarse. It is what dries our lips And makes us thirst for a kiss. It is what makes us hot And throw off all our clothes. It is what makes our love And lays its sweetness in our core. It is what goes up the chimney And into the thin, cool, night air. It is what leaves us without notice, And collapses into ashes; no more. It is for what we’ll keep on yearning Forever, always, and evermore. 2008 May 21 |

Maybe it was the two of us who had been dating and broken up? Is your picture showing the real you? Were you a cook in Hugh Heffner's mansion in 1989? Did you meet your husband there, who was in maintenance? All around us was love... the quite rustling of silk, satin, and skin... and the loud screams of ecstasy, rapture and missed contraception. Those were the days, eh, hun? |
