Fantasy film? Much Ado About Nothing.

Because only in a world that's not really real (whoa.)
could Keanu Reeves be allowed to do Shakespeare.

Eragon was atrocious. One of the worst films of all time lol. Not only does it ruin the books, but they wont ever make a sequel of this movie bc it bombed so badly and was so terrible in every aspect of filming: directing, cinematography, narrative, editing. just horrid

Uh huh. Well...to each their own I suppose.

The only real issue I had with the movies was that it wasn't exceptionally well written. Other than that, it wasn't all that bad.

I have never read the books so I wouldn't know how badly they hacked them up.

One thing I have learned is to never watch a movie that is based on a book or series of books I have read.

The only movies I have ever seen that hold up to the books were The Green Mile and The Shawshank Redemption.

Well, I personally don't care about either the book or the movie. The only dragonriders I care about live on Pern and fight Thread.

The day one of those gems by Anne McCaffery are turned into a film I will go to the midnight showing, dressed in as best a costume as can be, keep my expectations very low and....well..then probably buy the soundtrack if nothing else because at the moment who knows if it'd be good or not since it's just a "what if" scenario. ^^;

There's nothing wrong with girls who like Lord of the Rings, mostly because they're some of the best films ever made. Along with:

Labyrinth
The Dark Crystal
Merlin
Dragon Heart

Damn... Now I really wanna watch Fellowship... :P

yeah it was horribly written. lol thats the problem. and the director does not know how to direct- the actors sucked. i mean and i was very disappointed in jeremy irons bc usually he holds his own.

the best actor/actress was rachel weis as the dragon.

Does "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" count?

That aside, I vote, in no particular order:

Legend

The Never-ending Story
(ONLY the first one, Puh-leeze!!)

Willow

The Dark Crystal

Pan's Labyrinth

Big Fish

Juliet of the Spirits

Alice in Wonderland (Paramount, with W.C. Fields, Cary Grant, Sterling Holloway, Gary Cooper, etc.)

Repulsion (Does that qualify as fantasy?)

Edward Scissorhands

The 7 Faces of Dr. Lao (the book was better)
