My friend has told me that cutting dairy out of my life will promote weight loss. Is this true?

Dairy is very fattening. I cut it out once before and dropped some weight.

Even the low-fat versions?

I wouldn't cut it out, you still need calcium. Try 2% or lowfat milk, low fat yogurt, 2% cheeses etc.

Actually, they found that people who have two servings of dairy a day while dieting actually do better than people following the otherwise same program. Milk (even chacolate) and yogurt are considered two of the best post workout snacks because they have the right combination of fat, protein, and carbs that the body needs after a serious workout sesion.

Agreed....try taking a calcium vitamin if you do cut it out especially if you are a woman

Try listening to a nutritionist instead of what friends say. Listening to your friends is a definite way to delay asking someone who really knows what they're talking about and making you end up regretting it later.

Besides, it's not about what you eat, per se, it's about the amounts and frequency. Once your metabolism gets pretty regular then you'll start having an easier time losing weight no matter what you eat, as long as it's in small amounts.
