Who can show me insubstantial proof of any one presidential term that
was not mixed up in something illegal? For example, watergate. Who can
show me one presidential term that did not have a controversy in it?

Wasn't there a president who was only in office for one month, before
dying of illness?

Washington. As far as I know, historically, he's the only president who
served even half a term without a scandal of some form.

Found it - it was Harrison:

I think he's got the best shot at not screwing anything up. What did
he screw up in one month?

Don't want to dis one the first president but....

Printing presses at the time were owned by people that ran in the same
social circles.

Probably would have never made it to print.

Forget the printing press. Washington was about untouchable. If anyone
*tried* to bad-mouth him publicly, they'd probably have been lynched.

If we only knew what really went on behind the scenes...just like
Davinci said....they're all a bunch of crooks....I don't believe the
media and I don't believe politicians.

just look at lincoln. Everybody knows what he is famous for, but
mostpeople do not realize he kept slaves himself, nor that he fathered
bastard children with his female slaves.
As far as President Washington goes, I am sure there is some history for
him as well, but wiht him being the FIRST and all, who can say?
And as far as Harrison goes, who knows? lol. He just did not have the
time probably.

You may even be right. But there still weren't any controvercies or
scandals with him. In fact, the closest thing to a "controvercy" was the
general disappointment when he stepped down after his second term.

Hey daniel san......Every president has some sort of skeleton in his
political closet. They are only human beings like the rest of us. Some
are just smarter at hiding them then others.

But did you know that Aliens have since the birth of our nation been
inserting analprobes into our presidents to control them and thier
actions throughout thier entire stay in office?

With the exception of Reagan....they couldn't get near him because he is
the only president who carried his own little personal RayGun.bigsmile

just thought you might want to know that!

Harrison is the one US president who has done the least amount of damage
during this term in office. (or so I claim).

Oohhhhh...ok...cool..wish we had a prime minister we could say that
about..we had one disappear whilst diving...but I think he got the blame
for everything that happened over the next fifty years, as he wasn't
around to defend himself..laugh

You may even be right. Who cares? Our Republic is doing pretty good as
far as elected governments go. We have the record of being the longest
lasting, at least. AND the most stable. Only one serious rebellion, and
three periods of real civil unrest in the course of over 200 years. Not
bad at all.

"America has the worst government in the world.... except all the
others...."- I forget who came up with that quote.

Gerald Ford was quite uncontroversial.
Carter too I think.
Johnson was always talked about, but his back room deals were a macho
thing, it was a different time.

Sorry .. got that wrong ...

San Marino is the oldest republic AND the most stable.

It was founded on September 3, 301AD ... a little bit earlier than the
US
