tell me how to be happy again? Give up. When you truly don't care then you do what you want, which makes you happy. |

you have to find it internally. Small changes. Letting go of things that keep you from being happy in yourself. Learning new things. It doesn't happen over night.
But I totally hate it when people say 'fake it until you make it'. Faking it is so empty and hollow it makes things worse on the inside. |

Start out by being good to yourself. You deserve it. Stay close to family and friends. Remember that it makes them happy knowing that they make you happy.
Do something that brought you pleasure in the past. But, don't try to relive the past. And as someone else said previously. You can choose to be. So quit feeling sorry for yourself and start now. |

tell me how to be happy again? Giving your body the elements it needs to be healthy. Rest, exercise, a good diet, ect.. Giving your mind the elements it needs to be healthy. Basiclly the same thing as you do for the body. Giving your spirit the elements it needs. For some people this is religion, for others music, there are lots of ways but try several things that lift your spirits and make it part of your needs list. Believeing you can be happy is tough but if other people can do it, in sometimes terrible conditions, it is attainable. Give yourself a set amount of time to feel sadness after losses. Even small losses such as changes in family structure, economic changes, let down after the holidays need time to be adjusted too. If you have had a big loss in your recent history it tends to amplify smaller losses so factor that in. Set aside time to laugh and feel good. Some times you have to give it a boost. Look up the joke threads, watch funny movies or tv, do something silly that you find fun. Celebrate holidays, take luxery days, make wishes come true. When you are happy take note of it. Write it down in your journal or note it on your calendar. Let yourself enjoy it. You are entitled to be happy and any other person living or dead. Refuseing to be happy is self punishment for some reason and you can think about that when you are NOT having a good time. Laugh your face won't crack. On days you don't feel like it drag yourself out of the bed and out of the house. Walk; preferably in the morning light but if the weather is cruddy go to Mall Walkers or a any well lit place. Fakeing it until you make it sometimes can really help people relate to you on a positive plane and help not dig the hole you are in deeper. People don't want to hear constant complaining so you have to check yourself even if you don't want to, think it is fair, or even it is fair. Misery might love company but nobody loves misery. Faking it sometimes you will surprise yourself and find that you really aren't faking it and actually enjoying yourself. Limit the TV & the Computer. It is fine but a lot of it is negative and it tends to break up your focus and concentration. Especially if it replaces things you want in your life. Or you get caught up in dramas that have no contribution to your life. If you need a counselor to work with JUST DO IT! If you will spend $50+ to fix your hair why not spend the same money to talk to you in absolute confidence to someone to help you think through your issues and maybe give you another perspective. If you need medication with other elements of therapy USE IT. If you are diabetic and need insulin or have and infection and need an antibiotic you would use that. Why not rebalance your body chemistry if it has shifted from whatever reason? You are a big girl and can stop if you don't like the result. Hope this helps. Hang in there. |
