Nothing but true American Muscle for me Thats a nice ride ! My bud has a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T with a Ray Barton 426 Hemi on the bottle, and he drive it on the street, and to Redding Drag Strip on weekends. High 9's/low 10's ? I forget, but she's a screamer... Drive nice, and has pleny of power for gettin around slow pokes like me. lol I've driven it a few times, but I never got on it. I figure it's his machine, and his job to pound on it, not me. He did suggest do a little floorboard research though. guess I was a little intimidated by the thunder. Lots of fun driving it though. I bet that Chevelle's a blast to drive ! |

Oh, rotary engines are something that Mazda has a patent on but Corvette actually had them as an experimental power plant in the late 60's. Mazda beat them to the patent. They are astonishingly simple and can be ported to become insane. CC for CC they are the most powerful engine available. Look it up on the internet. I think you will be surprised by what you see. im not knocking a rotary engine cause ive never driven one but i know some one whoes suped a mazda rx7 and they said it didnt go for **** when it came to the test. I had an old RX2 I think it was. Looked kinda like a Toyota Corolla. Had the smaller rotary engine, and automatic. Was not real fast out of the gate, but once it got movin, that sucker would scream. I had it up to 100 once just for a test, and it was still accellerating pretty hard. You can't convince me they don't run good, my RX2 amazed me ! I never quite got used to that sound though, they are a 2 stroke engine, but get lots better mileage than a pistoned 2 stroke. |

Sweet ride brother Watch out bro, there are some 9 second Honda's out there. They just can't do it over and over again. lol Thats the beauty of a V8 ! My bud says he doesn't mind bein beat by the little jap cars ocassionally because he knows they wont be back for a while because they have to rebuild it again. hahaha ! I love it ! |

I never quite got used to that sound though, they are a 2 stroke engine, but get lots better mileage than a pistoned 2 stroke. Actually they are not a two stroke. That is a reciprocating engine. They are a continuous cycle engine. It actually has a lot more in common to a rotary pump in a supercharger than anything else. One common misunderstanding with a Rotary is that they are not low RPM engines. They develop power in higher RPM and unlike most piston engines that torque drops off at higher RPMs the Rotary keeps on getting torquier up to a point. In order to drag race a Rotary effectively you have to wind up its spring and come out of the gate hot. At low RPMs the engine does not have enough power to launch. I raced with a friends 86 RX7 with a stock 13B but when I sat at the line I was at 1800rpm and when I took off I already was shifting into second because I was into the red line. I did not like its close ration tranny at all but I still whooped a lot of fools that way in that rice bucket. With V8s they have torque at low RPMs but when you wind the two engines up the differences are actually startling. First of all compare the produced power vs the displacement. They do sound like sewing machines though. My friend's RX2 made this strange Vrang Vrang Vrang as it idled but when you lit it up it screamed. |

Looks good in silver! Ummmmmmmmmmm, Dude, I don't know where you are racing but I have seen some pissed of ricers with durability for multiple 9 second passes. I seen a team of Koreans at Pomona take a Hundai of all things out on the track and do mid 8s three times in the same day and come back the next day with it and do it again. Not all of these guys are blowing Nitros which eats engines because the idiots building their cars both American Iron and Japanese aluminum without hardening the engines to survive it. It is tough to find a shop to chrome the cylinder walls and the piston rings alone are over 200 smackers for just a four banger. You do not just bolt a fogger on top an engine and expect it to live long unless you spend money to make the engine purpose built for such boosting. Another thing is you had better have four bolt mains and the main caps had better be performance rated. I laugh at fools who put their crankshaft into their oil pan when they light up big foggers on two bolt main engines. With ricers it is a matter of using very expensive hardened bolts and beefier main caps. Don't forget the 22R is Toyota's best power plant yet for racing and off road. Besides, I do give points for style. I have seen some tripped out rice in my time. Its all relative to Power to Weight vs Brute HP. Some people like Brute HP. |

Neither ~ it's German only for me. No disrespect to muscle cars, I love 'em but I'll never own one, and I wouldn't own a ricer if you paid me.

I don't care either way. As long as it's fast then I'm peachy. I have a 2001 Z3 that I am working on right now. By the time I'm done with it, it's probably going to be the most insane Z3 in the states.

I have a 99 F-350 diesel with a banks package on it. 4" exhaust from the turbo back ,no muffler. K&N air cleaner and a 70HP chip, 3.73 gears, auto trans.
Its not a speed demon 0-60mph in 9.5 secs which isn't to bad for 3 tons of 4x4 i figure. I want to upgrade to higher cc injectors and either build the current trans or replace it with a 6 speed manual. After i do that I can have the chip reprogrammed for more HP up to 120hp more. I find it interesting how the chips work, they increase fuel rates and alter timing and shut off rev limiters. All of that aside.. right now my truck is a pulling s.o.b. I have a 25' flat deck trailer which I have repeatedly grossed out at 26,000 to 30,000lbs with and it NEVER skips a beat. Out pulls the neighbors 03 dodge with the cummins. Any way I like american muscle |
