Oh, rotary engines are something that Mazda has a patent on but Corvette actually had them as an experimental power plant in the late 60's. Mazda beat them to the patent. They are astonishingly simple and can be ported to become insane. CC for CC they are the most powerful engine available. Look it up on the internet. I think you will be surprised by what you see.

im not knocking a rotary engine cause ive never driven one but i know some one whoes suped a mazda rx7 and they said it didnt go for **** when it came to the test.

if i go for the choping of the roof i plan 2 lower the roof n give it a little more angle. on the olds motor i would take the enyire front wheel assymbly n most of the electrical n try it on my test van n if it works ill have all the fabrication n wiring pre maped. it dont look like the frame is bent on the car so i may just cut off the bad quarter panel n put a new one on, n get a new trunk lid. it would b eisier if i want a faster vhicle. i would drive it n start getin the van customed out. i want to widen the suspension on the van n put a custom kit that looks like the fenders n runner board off a 49 ford car. i have done 4x4's i just cant find a decent truck right now

i know wat they can do the old dude i learned wat i know from made some insane motors outa the rotarys. i didnt know bout the corvette thing, thats too bad chevy woulda had a car baned from nascar. i know rotary motors are baned from nascar, cause if built right they r hard to blow up n they r faster than most anything that can hit the track.

If it gets me from point A to point B...good enough. Not a huge car fan. but, if I am just going out for kicks and show...I take my '32 Frazier Nash....

It is just as useless as most of the crap people deck thier rides out with.

Rice FTW.

I have a 97 Toyo Celica GT with some mods. It's pretty damn fun to drive.

The anniversary edition Supra TT is godlike.

A good friend of mine has a 64 Skylark that does mid 9s in the quarter mile. Its ALL iron. The damn thing is a true Blue Gas Lead Sled. It will get about a foot of air under the front baloneys.
I myself have played around with a lot of steel in my time but never had the money to really play.

What I would like to do is build a 15 to 1 alcohol burner and set it up with an FFV fuel injection system and run E85 and dispel that crap about alcohol being a bad fuel. ODDLY I want to do it to a Saturn SC coupe with a Twin Cam 1.9l I would punch out to a 2.2l and do a little port relieving on the head to flow match the intake better. I bet I can make a four banger that turns nines in the quarter yet looks stock as a rock from the outside.

offtopic

There is a company in Texas making 1/4 scale P51 Mustangs (just like the WWII aircraft) that uses an all aluminum 454 Chevy engine modified to be used in aircraft. From a distance it looks and sounds like the real plane. Up close is another matter. I have stood on the wing of a P51 at Torrance Airport so I know how big the real deal is. The 1/4 scale ones look so killer though and the pilots who own them I have spoken with love them but do warn you had better know what you are doing flying one. They fly nothing like Cessnas. The all aluminum 454 looks sweet sitting in the nose metal of those pocket planes.

Real men don't just own muscle cars, They build them!drinker

Then again I used to own a 75 Torino. I just don't like feeding them so I stick with four bangers. If I want muscle I would rather own an aircraft! Can't get speeding tickets in the air and like over 200mph is different from trying not to hit something on the ground at those speeds!

There is a lot of steel I either fixed, modified, or worked on from the ground up in my time for others who could afford the hobby.

what would your preference be?

i my self am for both of them, i own musscle n ricer. an they do have their advantages n disadvantages. ricers have a lower power band but better fuel milage, n to musscle way more power but piss poor fuel milage.

i recieved a new car the other day a 1997 olds 2 door 4.0L high output v-6 needs body work but ill b driving it soon.

I perfer the old stuff myself. I have zero interest in all that computerized crap and vehicles that constantly drop in value. My 1973 Chevy Flatbed (my baby) gets 10 mpg, but she's a comfortable workhorse, and she never breaks. been drivin er for about 15 years now. I also ride a home built VW trike that gets about 27 mpg, and never breaks down, so thats my high mileage ride. Having been a mechanic my entire working career, i've driven just about everything, and I don't like new vehicles. There too hard to work on, the parts are too expensive, and the just don't have any personality.
On the other hand, if I was still working, and had to commute say 20 miles to work every day, I would probably have to break down and have a Geo Metro or something for work, but beyond that, no way ! I love my 350 Chevy and Turbo 400, and if gas get to $4.00 a gallon again, i'll just drive a little less, but i'll still drive er daily smokin
