Just wait and see. Some liberal congressman will set aside millions of dollars for the porn industry citing lost jobs and saying that it is not porn but part of the entertainment industry.Like I said only in America.

Please, enough with lumping all of the liberals together.frustrated

Winx you know as well as I do that any stupid radical law is going to come from a Liberal. It sure isn't going to come from a Conservitive and I doubt it will be coming from a Republican.

No, I don't know that!! I think it's not true.

Where is the most radical laws in the country passed?Cities like New york,San fransisco,Boston,Seattle,Portland and many others all led by Liberal Democrats. When was the last time you heard of a radical law being passed by a Republican city?

The last radical thing that I've heard was when our Republican Governor cut aid to disabled people.

If anyone wants to ban porn from the internet I am all for it.

A man should be able to quit without a help of a federal ban.

So, it's ok to bail out bankers, just not the porn business?

I say the only fair way is either it's nobody, or then it is everybody.

No it's not that. You probably know by now that I believe that the government should interfere with someone's life as little as possible and people should be allowed to live any way they want. But I know porn can be both very addictive and destructive especially to teenagers. It is funny how you have to be 18 to buy or view pornography but you can see as much porn as you like at any age.It is also disturbing that if you go to any modern day pornsite you will usually find some sort of picture of a girl tied up and abused much like she was kidnapped and raped.I have seen some very disturbing photos of girls crying, girls with guns to their heads, and girls generally being degraded and abused. And this is not something you have to look hard to find. This is something that you can find very easly.I have to seriously wonder why someone would want to look at that to begin with and even worse what kind of sick company would promote something like that.I am sure with out even doing any investigating that the majority of those porn sites can be traced to men and women with long crime records.I also believe that since the porn industry resides in the gutter it would not surprise me if the people who own these sites also run drug cartels, engage in prostitution(including underage girls),dabble with crime and murder, and promote things most people would rather stay away from.

Government has no right to prohibit us anything at all, but harming each other, and stealing from each other.

You're right, there should be no prohibition on drinking or smoking.

As for prohibiting porn to keep the youth from seeing the "unspeakable", you reason exactly as Islamic tradition does.

Well thats a very stupid idea. The government is loaning money to the banks because the banks have run out of money to loan.If people can't get loans they loose their house and cars. This downward spiral is why we have our current financial crisis as banks refuse to give Americans any more loans resulting in record foreclosures. It is also important for the government to give loans to American companies so third world countries don't buy the companies and banks.Although people have said the government is bailing out everybody it has only bailed out a handful of banks and credit institutions, one insurance provider, and the auto industry. These are all vital to keep America's blood flowing. The loss of the big three auto makers would result in over 8 million job losses alone.

The porn industry is not vital for the economy.Anybody can live with out porn.

Clarification for Winx.

You do not find any similarities in Thomas' desire to ban porn and the prohibition on porn in Islamic countries?

The government mainly has laws because people wrote them up,signed petions, and voted on them into law.Although I don't agree with alot of laws that have been passed if was passed with a majority then it was the will of the people and I respect that.Although I hate cigarette smoke I believe you should be able to smoke in bars, restaurants, and other public places because it should be up to the owner. If you dont like the smoke you can go somewhere else. But the people voted on the issue and even though I think its more government control,I do like going to a concert with out breathing cigarette smoke for 3 hours.

The underage drinking and pornography is a no brainer.I don't see any positives coming from exposing a underage person to pornography or drinking.A great deal of kidnappings have been linked to women viewing pornography and thinking they can hit it rich by making porno videos only to be abducted and murdered.I also don't think you will find many people(if all)that will give testimony that porn or drinking made their life more productive or more positive.

Banks run out of money?

Don't you ever read the news?Yes the banks have run out of money. At least 15 major banking institutions have gone under including the biggest bank in America Washington mutual. They are losing billions on people defaulting on their home loans and getting stuck with a house that is worth less than the money they gave to the lenders to begin with.

Are you saying you approve of showing minors pornography. Are you saying a 13 year old should be able to buy a porno video in a adult book store?

I would like yto point out that the people applying for the bailout admitted that they dont actually need the money, so they should not get the bailout based on that fact alone.
