laugh laugh

how ironic is this

i have had emails with more than one of the posters here that say need picture (interesting)

if a picture is so important (why is it) you have no idea if the pic is real (or as music said make them cam with ya)

if a pic is so needed is it for their not wasting their time if you do not look good enough for them (a need for a picture is imo a vanity issue)

if someone is not willing to talk because no picture it is their loss not the none picture persons (they have no idea what they are missing out on)

not to mention once you put your picture on the web you never know where it might appear some day (maybe your face on a few nude pics i am sure that would upset a few employers and may cost a few jobs

but hey

what do i know

I could only hope that someone puts my face on naked pics. Maybe playboy will call.

Exactly. I was pointing out a real life situation where a man used his anonymity created by the mask in order to harm me.

It all depends on the nature of the interaction. If they're talking in the forums maybe a 2, but if they want to e-mail me 10. I need to know who I'm talking to.

The site's rules actually state that the pictures must have you in them. But no one really follows it.

the last 3 (yes....3) times I invested time in a profile with no pic (another site) it was fruitless. They drop off the face of the earth after you start really getting to know them or they were not for me once I met them. I never saw any of those again, even when they say they want to keep in touch. It is imperative to me that you have a pic. Why hide, we're not!

Rate how much a pic on a profile is important to you on a scale of 1~10 & any comments you have on the subject.huh

Actually a picture on a profile is rated a 2 basically worthless, If and when I am going to meet someone I actually insist on a Webcam session it can be 5 minutes or longer that way I know who I am going to meet. I also take a screencapture shot of it and print it out before the meet and that is the person that had better show up for the meet. If not I don't meet.

Its all about interaction as well....recordings can be played back as cam.....but if u ask ppl to do summit, e.g pull their ear or touch their nose, u will know if its real or not. Ive encountered a few playbacks in my online time, its rather amusing when ya ask them to do summit and they cant lol!

Well I have never had that happen yet, I am pretty savy about facial expressions etc. Like I said if I print out the pic and it ain't them there is no meet. I actually at one time was totally againest it. I felt it was aslam on my character then, I thought about it and actually like the Webcam a lot. I mean when I was in a LDR, we used it alot. We played games like battleship etc.. It was a way to stay connected when we couldn't be right there.

One real one somewhere is nice, but profiles without any real pictures suggests something to hide. My favorites are the ones that are sources of dark and/or twisted humor.

If someone messaged me and they didn't have a picture, my decision to reply would depend solely upon the quality of the message. If they wrote me several paragraphs, and they were literate and had something interesting to say, of course I would reply!

If they sent me a one-liner that was almost impossible to decipher, it wouldn't matter if there was a pic or not. *delete*

I'm not going to reply to someone who can't write something coherent, even if they are attractive. We won't be compatible, so why bother?

As far as searching for people through the search engine (as opposed to the forums), yeah, you are more likely to get hits if you have a photo. However, I've now decided that the ONLY way to find compatible people on a dating site is through forums.

I may reply to someone with no picture, but I will normally ask why they don't have one.
