Less than 1. Even if there's a pic, you don't know if it's really that person. Sometimes there's a pic of more than one person, and they don't bother to tell you which one the profile belongs to.
My attitude is, I don't really care too much if there's a pic or not. It wouldn't have any impact on whether I would talk to them or not. The only time it would have any real relevance is if it was someone I was actually going to meet in person. Then I would want some idea who to look for at the meeting place. I don't see that as a realistic possibility any time in the near future (or far future), so I'm not too concerned about it. |

Extremely important. 10.
Without one, how are we supposed to know exactly who we're talking to? |

I don't mind when people DON'T have a pic as a main pic, but I want to see one SOMEWHERE in the profile. I did meet a fellow who did NOT have a pic and he wasn't ugly by any means. But, in general, I want to see a picture of them. I make sure I show every odd aspect of myself, so it feels uneven and unfair when they want to communicate or meet without returning the favor.

10! I met up with one woman on a site one time, and found out she was married. So I look at it if they have a pic, then less of a chance that they are married. If you don't have a pic because of living in a small town like I do. I had one person ask why I was on a site like that. I told them must be for the same reason they were.

Having or not a Pic here for me it's like if you met someone for the first time in a public place would you cover your face so they don't see who you are or say hello with your best smile.

one of my very favourite people that i've met via online sites was a guy without any picture of his profile.
i started writing to him because his profile was GREAT! it was humourous, it was lengthy, it was regulary updated and it was interesting. a photo did come after we'd been talking for awhile and before we met. that was before i became jaded, however, with the number of fakes and scammers i've come across. now i don't reply to anyone, photo or not, unless they are a regular forum poster or i sense at least moderate sincerity. |

Or if you force them to cam with you to verify their validity! |

Very Important 10 No pic No reply I agree. It makes me feel like you are hiding, hideous, or scared if there is no picture. |

how ironic is this i have had emails with more than one of the posters here that say need picture (interesting) if a picture is so important (why is it) you have no idea if the pic is real (or as music said make them cam with ya) if a pic is so needed is it for their not wasting their time if you do not look good enough for them (a need for a picture is imo a vanity issue) if someone is not willing to talk because no picture it is their loss not the none picture persons (they have no idea what they are missing out on) not to mention once you put your picture on the web you never know where it might appear some day (maybe your face on a few nude pics i am sure that would upset a few employers and may cost a few jobs but hey what do i know |
