It's often hard to admit to feeling that guilt, because it would be admitting that your life choices are wrong. Everybody makes wrong choices, what matters is that you eventually make the right ones. The only thing I might feel guilty about is what I am thinking about you right this minute. But since it would get me kicked out and deprived of the great people I have met here I won't say what I am thinking. Once again 'you' decide what is Right and Wrong from a book? Get your focus off genitals and try logic. What's going to happen one day when you don't have homosexuals to use as examples. |

what is sin for one is NOT SIN FOR ANOTHER?
how then can any that know god, or anything of inner truth from god, then treat ANYTHING AS GAYS, the same WAY WE ONCE TREATED THE BLACKS, and not see this come from an opposite sourse of good wisdom, more from the mind of bias, of self as better, THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT EVER CREATE ANY "WEEPING AND NASHING" OF TEETH FOR HUMANS? man does this? man create hell? man that create HELL, does not match any description of god? is it not man that CONVICNCE MANY OTHERS THAY ARE "SEPERATED FROM GOD"? so HUMANS MAKE THE HELL, BY BELIEING SUCH THINGS OF DISTAIN OF OTHERS? text say no humosexual shall enter the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN? this then say the same as, HEAVEN HAS NO KNOWING OF THINGS LIKE HOMOSEXUAL? it makes not bones, THAT TO SAY WHAT BE SIN FOR ONE, IS THE CURSE OF SELF? just ideas...... |

Get your focus off genitals and try logic. What's going to happen one day when you don't have homosexuals to use as examples. Well, not only that, but look at how the argument deteriorated. The original concern was that the Bible has no answers. Then Spider posts a link to C. S. Lewis claiming that he has answers. Then I show that he has nothing but unsubstantianed opinions that clearly don't even reflect reality. The Spider comes back with this kind of garbage like as if the Bible has any credibility. This is so typical. The discussions always start out with the question, "Why should anyone believe that the Bible is the word of God?" No one can give a rational reason to believe that it is. And then they start acting like as if it is anyway. This is so futile and insane. It's a book that was written by bigoted men who claimed that God told them to be bigots. I don't believe that God ever told anyone to do the terrible things the Bible claims, and so far I haven't seen any reason why any sane person should believe it. Even C. S. Lewis confesses that he doesn't believe in witches. But the authors of the Bible did. So where does that leave his credibility? As far as I can see the man doesn't believe in the Bible at all and he's just totally confused. I'd suggest that he be commited to an insane asylum for his own safety. |

If we are born with inherent instinctual or genetic predispositons that guide us to determine Right and Wrong, then there is no reason to "learn" what is right and wrong from any other source.
If one believes Biblical teachings contain the source of what is Right and Wrong, than those sources should be equivalent to our inherant nature. But if one believes that our sense of right and wrong are not inherant but must be learned than I can only question how one can learn anything about right and wrong from scripture. Consider the God of the Bible says that murder is wrong. God, however, does not prove this point by His own actions as he destroys countless lives, human and otherwise. Further, the same God, having given the directive that murder is wrong, proceeds to request that humans 'do wrong' and murder, not just in one way, but in many ways, no just one person but many persons. I'm afraid the lesson there is blind obedience, the problem with blind obedience is that there can only be ONE RIGHT, and that is whatever God directs one to do. This means, God must speak DIRECTLY to every single individual and make clear what it is He intends for that individual to do. Therefore, EVERYTHING an individual does, without personal instruction from God must, therefore, be WRONG. Taking this further, this can only mean that God is a personal God and as such what God "personally" relates to one indivdual, does not apply to anyone else. The conclusion is that the Bible is WRONG in its teachings and those who attempt to teach it to others, have not learned the lesson of blind obedience. |

the words of text have been corrupted, by being read thru pious holy perceptions?
text clearly say, WHAT IS SIN FOR ONE, IS NOT SIN FOR ANOTHER? so how have pillers of definitions of WHAT IS SIN, AND WHAT IS NOT SIN, BEEN CREATED? text also say that in the days of renewing, none shall HAVE NEED OF ANY MAN? also that "all things shall be brought to the rememberence"? of god, or INNER TRUTH, the kingdom of heaven, said to be WITHIN, control all memory, AND AS WELL, TELL HOW TO BE RELEASED FROM A LIMITED MEMORY, not needing the memory any longer, but having TOTAL AWARENESS, then these be good things, and also tell exactely, how to REACH FULL ENLIGHTENMENT OF MIND, using 100% of brain function, being total ALL KNOWING, in the last days, as mans destiny, wherein a greater knowing of all thing, LITERALLY HELP MANKIND TO SOLVE ALL IT'S PROBLEMS, erasing all things that ocne troubled? it is only devisive teaching, that try to establish a bottom, to make self the top, that has created such insideous divisive notions as have been handed down thus far? no doubt easily understood why such as these have come to be believed, but nonetheless, these definitions are far removed from all the words of text being taken as a LOGIC? imcomplete ideas, looking thru all things as either good or evil, which is the very first thing in the first book, said to be the curse, and what NOT TO DO, OR DEATH OF HUMANS BE CREATED? text say ALL HUMANS ARE IMMORTAL, AND HELL BE A PLACE OF EMOTIONAL HELL PASSED THRU, BY MAN ON EARTH, and that the garden of eden, when all things are completed, WILL BE FINISHED FOR MAN, ON EARTH? just my one cent, that all have..... peace |

Spider, if you don't mind, would you answer the following question?
Is there something that you saw, heard, or read that made the Bible true in your eyes? |

The conclusion is that the Bible is WRONG in its teachings and those who attempt to teach it to others, have not learned the lesson of blind obedience. That is truly brillant Di. And it is so precisely right on. Didn't God even instruct Abraham to sacrifice his own child, and then God stopped him at the last second. This is a God who demands that people at least be willing to murder whether they actually go through with it or not doesn't seem to matter to God, just as long as their willing that's all that matter. Blind obedience is the name of the game for the Biblical God. No doubt about. And then the question is simple. Is that what a truly diving creator of this universe would ask of someone? I don't believe so. So what's the next question? Is this what a man would write into a book to try to get his readers to blindly follow him? YES! BINGO! It's crystal clear that this book was written by men who are trying to gain blind-faith followers who will do anything in the name of God. Why should anyone believe that the creator of this universe would behave in such a dastardly manner? It's insane. |

Spider, if you don't mind, would you answer the following question? Is there something that you saw, heard, or read that made the Bible true in your eyes? Many things. Everybody is different. I suggest that you read Mere Christianity as it is a wonderful introduction to Christianity. Then you should grab a Bible or use one online and start reading. If you don't believe it, then you have only lost a number of hours, but if you do believe it, you will find that you have gotten more than you put into it. |

Untimately, put the blame for tragedy where it belongs...on the devil. As for God, He promises to never leave us or forsake us. What about billion people who are in deep poverty in this world? (Yes, it's 1 billion...quick google search and you can find this written all over the place: http://www.blogher.com/making-postive-impact-impoverished-communities) What about all those starving children who suffer. Yes, you can say that's the devil's fault, but then, you have to admit, the Devil seems more powerful than God. If everyone was really trying to work towards good, well...how is the world so bad? One answer is that the Devil is more powerful. Sidebar: I say the things you speak of are a result of man's falling AWAY FROM God. Our only sense of wrong doing comes from a conscience. what to do about all those SEARED consciences is more the question ????? Questions are: First off, for the sake of discussion, let's *assume* that God exists per the Judeo-Christian tradition. 1) How do we know that God's will is correct and good? Is there circumstantial evidence in support of this, or is it something we believe blindly? 2) Is there circumstantial evidence that God's will *may not* be good??? But in fact, may be bad? No...as I said... bad things that happen are always a result of the devil who comes to kill, steal, & destroy humanity & their relationship with God our Father. but.... Thanks to God we are not consumed. |

It's a pretty sad religion that need to appeal to Satan to justify Jesus.
|
|
|
|
Not only that, god basically relies on Satan in many ways to prove his points. Once again, incompatible with the notion of an omniscient being. "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."
