Mr. Apple White - Leader of the mass suicide cult known as heavens gate. He lead them to there deaths. In a sense he is a mass murderer.
What I'm saying here is. I guess people are afraid of us single people. Question is who amoung us are going to be the next nutty axe murderer. Thats why I say say just start a cult. With cults at least your not alone and every one is too drugged to not love you. I'm kidding bout the start a cult part. But really, people are afraid of being killed by the single. Thats my theory.

Thats my take on it.

Couples are always worried that single people will try to cheat with thier mate. They think we are always on the prowl.
Some people think there has to be something wrong with us if we can't find a mate.
I know I feel awkward when I am the only single person in a group of couples. I am either ignored or showered with extra attention because they feel sorry for me. They are always trying to match me up with unsuitable men.

Sadly the ideal that the ultimate goal in life for a man and a woman is to find a mate is still in effect. I believe alot of it comes from religious background. The belief that a mate and commitment makes for more stable, socially acceptable and moral humans is the problem.

Tis' all about money. They want you to get hitched, pop out a bunch of offspring, and go into a debt in which you cannot escape.

Capitalists.
