Topic: Big fuss about feeding kids in public | |

Idiots? thats kind of harsh, wouldn't you say? Considering that they had 9 months to do 2 majorly important things which I ended up doing for them, oh 1) NAMING THE BABY 2) PROVIDING HEALTH INSURANCE FOR SAID BABY Yeah, and they had a daughter previously, so you would think they would have known what to do already? I ended up naming the baby and staying in the hospital long after the doctor said I could leave just so he could get the necessary testing done. My sister ended up giving them her spare infant seat cause they didn't even have that or diapers. Come on now.... Idiots? Yes. |

It's not a big deal about feeding in public,an anyway most have pumps?

Ok, so like I'm suppose to know these things.
Whatever, and to think you let them walk off with a child without having things for it. Whos fault is that. You had nine months to realize that didn't you? |

It was not my child.
It was genetically theirs. If I was to keep the child, I would have been sued beyond belief. I was just the carrier. Which is why my family jumped through hoops to make sure I was able to wash my hands of them as soon as possible to avoid being sued by them for "kidnapping" their son. |

The only time I ever had a problem with it was when a lady was sitting at the edge of the pool breast feeding. She was very discrete about it and I may have been the only one to notice, but it is a bodily fluid, and therefore, against health code.

i think its really about circumstance. i wouldnt have a problem with it, its natural. but i remember one time my cousins girl was at my house and she just whipped it out in front of everyone like no big deal. come on man im not trying to see my cousins girls tits thats not cool. at least like grab a blanket or tilt away or sit in the front room. so i think its how the lady carries herself. dont tell my cousin i seen his girls tits either plz.

and people peeing or spitting in a pool isn't worse? Yeah, but I was nice to the mom. That was good of you. Careful where you tread there too. Many states have enacted laws that protect breastfeeding. Meaning that the mothers have the right to breastfeed anywhere they have the right to be. By asking a mom in one of those states to leave or even move you could be violating a state law and cause many mothers to have a protest. I just did a little research too and from what I read it does not appear that breastmilk would actually cause any health problems or violations. I noticed two court cases where it was brought up because of women being ask to leave while breastfeeding. Just a little FYI |

I didn't want to sound crappy... sorry if I did. I am sure you did a fine job. Just when you get a chance google breastfeeding laws in your state just in case. You sound like you work somewhere where it could happen again. |

Personally it doesn't bother me except for when I'm at work. I'm in law enforcement and a lot of women use it as a sympathy tool just before I/we arrest them. THAT annoys me. um, why do you arrest breastfeeding women? Immigration. I don't specifically look for breastfeeding women to arrest. |

Breast Milk is SO good!

like u being annoyed matters. i would'nt arrest a breast feeding woman for being an imigrant period ud have to fire me thats pathetic if u ask me.

You did an amazing thing, most people would not even consider being a surrogate. It is also great that you made sure he had the things he needed before he left your sight. You did what you could sweetie, and thats awesome. It really was out of your hands once he was born, so no one should judge you for it. I applaud you for being so strong. |

i breastfed my kids when they were hungry. it didn't matter where we were, but i tried to be considerate about not showing anything.
however, when it comes down to it, my kids' needs were FAR more important than worrying about offending someone who might decide to take a glance. they could always look away if it were offensive to them. |

breastfeeding is a good thing..average age for weening as recommended by the doctors I have seen is two...yes it goes longer in other countries, but for a great many other countries it is the best and most accessible food source for children.. I have breast feed my children until they acquired teeth..bitting is not fun..and at this point they were doing well enough with other foods and milk....as for feeding in public...would you rather listen to a screaming hungry baby or would you risk seeing a little titty? which people pay to see anyway
